He beat a prime roided Canelo the first time and arguably beat Canelo again the second time. He is still top level but is definately slipping.
Ah I don't know maybe move up. That's what most fighters do when they fight in a dead or weak division.
Ward didn't want that work. The weight advantage wasn't enough for him, he wanted GGG to move up all the way to 175 These are the facts.
The first thing is he beat Canelo twice, a highly talented boxer in his prime and on PEDs at least in the first. He beat Jacobs who had a significant size advantage and youth advantage too. Not too bad for a middle-aged fighter. In his prime he would have beaten them even better. Fighters duck him for years then he gets **** for picking 'bums'? Laughable. So then he's supposed to fight in a different weight class because guys his size avoid him? Let's get something straight, Golovkin is NOT a big middleweight. He's 5'10 on his tallest day, probably less. Many middles are visibly bigger. For all the propaganda Kell Brook actually outweighed him. This 'he must move up to 68' garbage is even more absurd in light of the Groves/Smith fight last week. Groves was huge compared to Murray (bigger than Golovkin). And Smith was huge compared to Groves. Imagine Golovkin weighing in with Smith. Why should he fight at such disadvantage even if he can get wins?
Who could GGG have fought at 168 anyway? Can't say Ward, he was locked out in a legal dispute and fought once in like two and a half years. Froch retired. Dirrell, Abraham, Taylor? Are they better than Lemeiux, Geale, Murray - I'd say same level. Degale and Groves tended to have short runs of form and I doubt he'd have got much credit, there peaks were like a year long. 168 has been as barren as 160.
3g was not relevant until ward was moving up, you mean. 3g first title win, geale 2014, same time ward moved post break. lol at attempt to label flawed opinions as facts.
