You quoted him? Then why did you not quote the reason why they are giving up on Saunders? You didn’t even mention this is about a Saunders fight.

He did speak on it. It's common knowledge Ward was having a hard time making 168. He would've been a corpse at 164.

He didn't hit him in the nuts once. Your nuts must be in a very strange place, or maybe they are still yet to drop...

Your links don't work except the middle one which states

“GGG is now clearly the ‘A’ side yet Ward still would want to dictate terms, which makes no sense,” Loeffler said. “GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder (at) 164 (and) a 50-50 split on all proceeds. But it seems like Ward needs more tune-up fights.

Ward wanted to play diva and expected GGG to stall his career and wait for him to finish having his numerous tune ups.

The deal offered to GGG wasn't viable by any stretch of the imagination

    1) It was sent after he was contracted to fight someone else

    2) He made unreasonable demands expecting to be the A side after being out of the ring for over 4 years for trying to sue a man who was dying from a terminal illness.

    3) He expected GGG to wait years before he could have his favourite bum fights i.e tune ups.

So ring rust is your answer? Pretty poor answer IMO. That wasn't what I thought upon his return. He took those fights to see how he felt at the weight which I consider a sensible move by him. He's a smart fighter.

And the 164 demand by Golovkin was both unreasonable and unrealistic. He shouldn't have asked for it and Ward was very very unlikely to agree to it had negotiations moved forward. Andre doesn't really make concessions - see the S6 when he wasn't a champion and refused to budge and Golovkin was nowhere near a money man to make him change that.

So had Golovkin said I'm having a 3 fight run at 168 culminating in Ward and he's going to have to wait you think everyone including Andre would of been cool with that? Methinks not.

FWIW I think Ward is a nightmare match up for Golovkin and would pick Andre but that's not the point.

He said coz Saunders would price himself out, if that were the case why did GGG and Saunders come to an agreement in the summer till GGG pulled out.

He did agree to the catch weight that’s the worst thing.

Yes ring rust is a real thing and when your fighting a heavier p4p fighter it’s pretty smart to get one or you look like Rigo did against Loma, complete out of answers. Kovalev should of probably got the nod on the first fight imagine if Ward never got those tune ups and training camps in.

He agreed to their 50-50 catch weight fight, if he would be a corpse too bad for him.

No way a returning Ward comes back at 164 IMO.

He's just too smart to play the sort of desperate game Chad Dawson played with him. Golovkin simply didn't bring in the kind of cash to make these concessions a serious consideration and even if that was initially said to lure GGG in then we would of heard something about that not being possible further down the line and the match being made at 168 anyway. Of that I'm sure.

Ward doesn't get played in negotiations, it's as simple as that..

He would obviously have been drained, not sure what your argument is. Hence moving up to LHW and taking the much harder fight with Kovalev. Didn't demand a catchweight to do it either.

GGG offering Chavez and Froch fights at 168 but only willing to fight Ward at 164 is a really poor look.

This was before the Kovalev fight and it doesnt matter if you think there was no way, he said he agreed to the terms.

Yeah it is a poor look but it is smart though because imo Ward is a nightmare for GGG stylistically.

Would I have wanted Ward to fight at 164, no but if he thought he could do it and we get the fight then its up to him to show and prove.
