Golovkins temperament is a big dissapointment.

Nothing wrong with being a boxer puncher. Not every fighter has to be an aaron pryor or mike tyson like pitbull. But thats not what they tried to sell us. They tried to sell us Golovkin as a mexican throwback. Golovkin is very skilled, his skills are somewhat underrated. But thats not the problem.

Can you imagine a prime Mike tyson refuse to let his hands go against a supposedly glass chinned opponent to the point that the decision could have gone the other way? Just because the other guy has maybe 8-10 pounds on him? AND THEN HE HAS THE NERVE TO SAY "IM BOXER NOT KILLER?"

    ****ing disgusting.

Last time i saw that was Lewis vs Tua. But atleast lewis was a real ATG with ATG skills and power who was outclassing Tua, make no mistake GGG was the better fighter, he could have stopped jacobs. He was just too gunshy......after years of being marketed as the new JCCsr. NAUSEATING!

And then he chokes AGAIN against canelo. Everyone says Canelo ran away.....but everyone also knows and loves to point out canelo doesnt have quick feet or Lara-esque movement. other guys with quicker feet moved from GGG and he had no trouble cutting them down! There were so many moments were canelo was laying on the ropes and Golovkin was just staring at him and doing nothing because he was scared! He didnt just "forget" the body.
He froze in a way that was very dissappointing.

In golovkins defence I think he,d regressed a bit by the time he got to canelo the styles a young mans style. Also think golovkins style was made for canelo.

Canelo can be taking care of on the back foot by guys with length advantages but the last thing you want to do against canelo is go into him. He's a big strong boy who can punch...great on the single heavy counter as well. Golovkin is nowadays a come forward fighter. It wasn,t that he was scared he just knew he was walking into a trap against Canelo. Its just a hard style for a come forward fighter. The same as theirs a few styles that would cause Canelo problems.

He helped make the middleweight division lighting hot when it was on it's death bed and made
"EARNING" the titles relevant at a time when some were telling people that they were bigger than a belt.
He opened the door to the Eastern Block to get some shine in boxing and now that he opened the door others are following behind him. Gennady Golovkin may be slightly overhyped but it was needed hype.
He is fundamentally sound ,not a razzle dazzle fighter but he gets the job done.

A guy on his way to setting a middleweight title defense record with an insane KO ratio is far from a disappointment. I think his style is very entertaining and on top of all that.. he carries himself with class.

Of all the fighters billed as "killers" or promoted as knockout machines the one you find disappointing is Golovkin?

Too high expectations if you were disappointed.
Jacobs can punch harder than GGG and Canelo is elite. You can’t just Dominic Wade every opponent in 2 lol
Also keep in mind he’s getting older and the clock is ticking

GGG is the same fighter that got into a war with Kassim Ouma and got tagged up by Willie Monroe and Brook

How does Canelo get to be "elite"?? He got schooled by Floyd,
really lost to GGG , Lara & arguably Trout

    He beat Trout and Lara
    Stylistic matchups made it hard
GGG is the bigger man of course he lost but Canelo won solid 5 rounds vs GGG

Some people need to read my post again. Yes he is elite in terms of skills no doubt, but im saying he does not have the psychological temperament he was supposed to have. In that way he is a big dissappointment. He only really pressures guys and hunts them down if they run or have nothing to offer back.

Think of Aaron Pryor.......Duran at Lightweight and against Leonard in Montreal. Chavez's ruthless display vs Big puncher rosario. Legitimate sadist Sergey Kovalev until recently. Mike Tysons ferocity before jail vs Razor ruddock, or how he kept throwing bombs against douglas despite getting the **** beat out of him. Manny pacquiao fighting like a man possessed in his prime.

Golovkin never had their temperament, and tbh he isnt as exciting and explosive as them either against good opposition, because he becomes gunshy when a good opponent offers something instead of turning the heat up. Even the Lemieux fight was a dissappointment
