Think about when guys Golovkin sparked out and beat easy like rubio and martin murray and stevens they can go up and have competitive fights with the best at 168 it shows you how weak it is. rubio got knocked out by gennady golovkin inside 2 rounds then went up to 168 and went the distance with dirrel in a somewhat competitive fight. Martin murray fought Golovkin and got easily beat up and toyed with and Golovkin knocked him down countless times before stopping him.He then moved up and fought groves(a guy who beat degale)he put a battle and went the distance with him groves could not put him down. Curtis stevens got stopped and knocked down by golovkin he fought andre dirrel and dirrel ran all night and won a decision without even thinking of forcing the stoppage The point here is the best fighters at 168 are degale/groves/bute/jack those guys stand no chance with Golovkin even his victims put up a battle against them imagine him?
Errrr... Murray got schooled by Groves at 168. So of the three names you mentioned, the one which did step up a division, came up short against a fighter who has lost three world title shots at SMW.
watch the fight again groves was in a fight murray even came back at the end groves really only lost to froch and no shame in that and he nearly beat him
Groves was not at his best in that fight, not the normal Groves IMO. an on form Groves & GGG would be a good fight ...better than the upcoming Jacobs fight as Groves is a very good boxer...as Froch found out.
lol no groves got his rib broke in sparring and cried and never turned up lol the shots murray landed on groves was hurting him imagine ggg? GGG is just above everyone at 160 to 168
You think Groves would have the engine to take the fight into the later rounds? I think GGG would have him gassing in the 2nd half of the fight. I do agree he has some of the tools needed to be competitive against GGG.... great jab and power. But his chin? Could that hold up?
But your post talked about GG's 160 victims at SMW. Now you've flipped it to talk about GG at 168. So why not just say that in the first place?
This has been discussed a couple of tines and it definitely is an indicator. Not to mention that Golovkin is a nightmare style for every current player at the 168 top besides that Mexican dude.
i may have gave the impression that I thought Groves could beat GGG...not in a month of sundays no, what I was trying to convey is that IMO, Groves would fare better against GGG than Jack or Jacobs, nothing more!
