JMM should be a trainer when he retires man, so much knowledge in that huge dome. I really hope he does I think he would be a great trainer.

i don't care how tough your chin is and who you've walked through before, you simply cannot walk through sergio martinez. it's not as if sergio is just quicker more powerful and has a superior skill set, he also has the experience edge. i know chavez has a much better inside game than sergio but do you really think he'll be able to get to the inside/workable inside range nearly enough? I don't.

 

The strategy is simple:

Stay close to Martinez & throw lots of tight, ugly shots for 10 rounds.

Pay of the judges.

Receive a unanimous decision & take home the belt.

On the show golpe a golpe, when giving fighters boxing advice, I have not once disagreed with him. JMM just understands boxing and all its styles.

 

chavez makes one comment about his chin, and all of a sudden "he's depending on his chin" as his game plan hahahaah.....y'all so ****en gullible

look at martinez, who happens to think he's gonna really walk through chavez...aint that even worse ?? under estimating your opponent whose been proving himself while you've been looking sloppy in your last 3 fights......

he will have to do that to win this fight. but, martinez is a runner. will be hard for jr to stay close to him. serg is too smart to let jr stay close to him

 

The strategy is obvious, sometimes fans over think things. This is a fight where I think most are over thinking. Jr wants and NEEDS to come forward and work the body to slow Martinez. Martinez needs to move, pot shot him and try and land that left hand.

I agree with most of what you said but I disagree in Jr using the jab as much of a weapon as you think. Martinez loves to counter with the right hook over the left jab and he's fast enough to do it and Jr won't be able to stop it IMO.

What he needs to do is use his gloves and head movement more importantly. Him being in shape and moving his head while keeping his hands up are key. That may sould simple but it will be tough for 12 rounds.
