I doubt they can come to agreement about weight, Canelo will look a complete fool if he goes any higher than 160 lb and Chavez Jr obviously can't make anything lower than 168 lb. That's 8 pounds of difference. Sanchez just said he wants to make Golovkin vs Chavez JR at 168 in May, imo that's a bit more likely.

Canelo is a MW, but Chavez Jr is a SMW. it's like KiwiMan said, it's an 8 pound difference and there's absolutely no way chavez Jr can get lower than 168 and be effective. After a few rounds he'd be a sitting duck and Canelo would start to pick him apart. Back in 2012 this fight would have made sense though.

Big money fights for sure but will never happen do to the weight difference being too great. Chavez can't fight below 168 and canelo won't go above 160.
