You mean the one where only one Bookie(Boylesports) suspended betting and then only one bookie(Boylesports) failed to participate into the BUI's inquiry ? If Gomez really was going to try and cash in with a fixed fight like that he wouldn't have hammered McDonagh for round after round and he wouldn't have gone down in the manner of turning and walking away while being hit but rather would have just gone down Bruce Seldon style . Some of them do in the more remote parts, but generally it's English, (spoken with a mouthful of marbles).
And STILL, no-one can tell me what actor if any plays the evil scotsman Alex Arthur? Come on folks, I thought the posters in here were supposed to have their fingers on the pulse of british boxing! & as Gomez was walking about with 'Gomez the movie' t shirts on, you would at least expect someone here to be able to give us a sneak preview of whats coming! I really hope they re-enact the fight & dont use original footage, cos I want to see what extremes they go to to make Gomez look like the hardest englander of all time who sorted out the biggest baddest scotsman of all time! Sorry to go on, but as I already said, this film fascinates me in a ghoulish sort of way. The englanders claiming Gomez as one of their own here is almost as bad as the welsh claiming Calzaghe as one of their own! But you all do it, & who am I to argue?
IMHO the biggest issue facing the producers of the film is how they handle the "Somberogate" fiasco. For the hardcore, knowledgeable boxing fan this film will stand or fall by how it handles this hot potato. I, for one, hope the producers leave no stone unturned in the quest for the truth on this matter!:bart:bart
