Alfonso Gomez has stated that he would like to fight Hatton. Gomez is the bigger man, but how would he deal with Hattons pressure and work rate, I like Gomez but I think he would be stopped by Hatton and would find that he is a lot stronger then what Gatti was.

I don't see why Hatton would take this fight- no reward

Gomez is a natural welterweight and can fight a little bit.

Hatton was hurt several times (by his own admission) against the light-punching Collazo.

Billy Graham doesn't want Hatton to move up and was against the idea in the first place.

Hatton got battered by Collazo in the 12th round and was lucky to get the decision.

Gomez is getting better with each fight.

You see what i'm getting at?

I see what you're saying ... that the highly rated Collazo gave Hatton a damn good scare whilst Gomez just beat a completely shot fighter in Gatti who should have retired a fight or three ago and needs to ride it for everything it's worth?

Apparently Hatton according to reuters, are suggesting that American Television want hatton to fight Mosely, Cotto, Mayweather or DELHOYA. Just wondering what your take on these potential fights. I want Hatton to fight Cotto as that will be a all out war!

When a feather-fisted guy has u trying to survive the final round it's normally not a good sign. Like I said, Hatton's own trainer was completely against him moving up. You don't think that 7 lbs. makes a difference? I'll trust the trainer who is around the fighter all the time and I'll trust my own eyes after seeing Collazo give Hatton fits. I'm not saying Gomez would beat Hatton but I am saying that Hatton is vulnerable at welterweight whereas he can stay at 140 and rule comfortably.

if hatton fights pbf in novemeber and delahoya next year, hatton would have time to grow in to the new weight, he would still have to pick his fights, but i think hatton can do better a WW than we saw with a southpaw collazo. although i agree hatton can be king of 140 easy,

Graham brought up the Hagler comparison and basically begged the question "why does a fighter have to move up and win titles in other weight classes to be considered great?" Hatton can reign for a long time at 140 and his trainer knows it. I understand that Collazo's a tricky fighter for anyone but he was hurting Hatton with his punches and he's no puncher. If Hatton got through the fight with a clear face and only had difficulty with Collazo's style it's one thing but Collazo's punches were getting to him. There are monster punchers at 147.

Gomez isnt on the same level as Hatton. Just cause he beat a shot Gatti doesnt mean he deserves a shot at the number 1 LWW in the world. Similiar to the Calzaghe-Manfredo fight, Gomez gets stopped early but this time theres controversy.
