This is a tough question. Gonzaga's strength is his top game but hes a Mundial Champion obviously he has well rounded ground skills. I think his best time for a sweep or a submission is in the first 7-8 minutes or so before he gasses which lets face it hes known to do, he doesnt want Lesnar on top him at that point.

From the little ive seen with Gonzaga on his back I get mixed results he chocked out a decent fighter in Brandon Lee Hinkle with a Triangle although Hinkle was rocked standing up shortly before that. I see Gonzaga have his back took and finished with a RNC by Alexandre Ribeiro which of course I wouldnt expect from Lesnar considering Lesnar's lack of experience and Ribeiro being a World Champ in Grappling. I saw Gonzaga sweep a fella from half guard who I wasnt fimilar with at a Naga event in 09 and finished him with a Kimura. Gonzaga troubled Werdum with a Kimura and used it to sweep him in their 1st bout. I remember him taking some flush elbows from Werdum from his halfguard in the rematch. Randy gave him a beating from the halfguard when Gonzaga was gassed out and discouraged.

Gonzaga ive noticed likes rolling for kneebars which we know is how Frank Mir beat Lesnar. I think Gonzaga stands a better chance then Mir did when Lesnar is in their half guard because Gonzaga is a threat for sweeps. Its tough to tell to be quite honest.

Gonzaga does have a pretty good guard, he even ends up pulling guard a lot in grappling matches, but his tendency to be mentally broken in fights would be a big concern. Dealing with Lesnar in your guard is going to require a lot of patience and will power.

Stop with this nonsense that Gonzaga isnt that good of a grappler. Where is your Blackbelt and Mundial Championship ?

 I didnt say hes not good on the ground. But one big shot from Brock and he is done.

He just need to ****in WIN! because frankly next to Rampage he is the most overrated fighter in MMA. He beat a ****in shot Crocop with a highlite reel kick (thats the only reason we are talking about him)

Its ok though, once JDS ends his UFC career, he can then go back competing in the Mundials.

STFU with Cro Cop being shot. Its impossible for him to be considered at his peak in September 06 when he smashed Wanderlei (before all the bad losses) and Josh Barnett then in April 07 hes all of a sudden shot. The only way that happened if he was actually shot in the legs with a gun which I dobut he was. Cro Cop was fine but he got his ass kicked on the ground and standing up and was the victim of the most brutal KO in MMA history and the mans head aint been right since.

Gonzaga would loose to hammerfists if he was in Lesnar's guard.

Nut Gonzaga is a better striker than Brock

I like Gabriel Gonzaga, but I don't fancy his chances if Lesnar gets on top of him. A lot of heavyweights, even submission specialists, don't fight well off their backs. I think that it would be over pretty quickly.

Gonzaga is a real underachiever - on paper he seems to have the skill set of a champion.

I agree Gonza's problems are mental.
