Well the commentators were roughly in line with the judges, scoring it a draw (they had lots of 10-9.5 rounds either way) - maybe they just didn't appreciate Priori's style not being all that pretty? :conf

Bottom line is effectiveness, and Priori was definitely the more effective man for most of the night - and despite having the more suspect chin on paper, it was him that hurt Moreno a few times.

 

Huge mismatch in experience here. Martinez has fought 52 times - Amarilla twelve.

 

We are in good shape - even if this one goes the distance it will be over by quarter past 10pm EST, leaving plenty of time for Basile vs. Fernández to start & end long before it can overlap with either the UniMás or beIN Sports Español cards.

Martinez is behaving a bit like an orthodox Sergio Gabriel Martinez, arms carried low with a bit of drag as he stalks Amarilla in a bouncing squat, occasionally exploding with a forward dash throwing a 1-2-3. Amarilla is keeping up a high guard and waving his fists in wide arcs, headhunting, getting countered on the body and spun around with Martinez planting his knuckles against the ribs of Amarilla for leverage.

Rodolfo is starting to exhale laboriously. He may have patterned his style loosely after Maravilla but clearly lacks the legendary stamina of the more famous Martinez (who played soccer and was a competitive bicyclist for years before taking up boxing)

 

Huh. Figures. Clear round for Amarilla IMO, and the commentators only give it to him 10-9.5 after giving him the first two outright. :huh
