If Haye healed, I would still like to see him and Fury, though Fury said that after the two cancellations, he will never again entertain the idea.

Besides, the division is pretty full. It is just that, of all of Fury's cancelled/unmade fights, this is the only one that would have mattered. Price or Ustinov...who cares? Haye? That would have been fun.

I can see why people don't like Haye. I can see why people say he shouldn't of fought when he was old and injured buy he clearly needed the cash after his bad investments and divorce.

His shoulder was/is clearly ****ed as is/was his leg. Anyone who denies this has been blinded by their hatred of him for being a Flash Arry.

I agree. The guy was a bit of a prima donna, ducker, excuse maker, cherry picker, and all around pain in the ass.

All of that not withstanding, he is a two-division champ, has some impressive wins, and made things interesting by providing a personality and credible challenge to Wladdy when the division was otherwise dead.

To those who hate him: what would your life have been 2008-2011 without David Haye to hate?

The toe excuse was also overblown. Sure it was a poor excuse but it least it is an injury and it's not like he quit in between rounds is it?

Rigo quit with a bruised hand FFS. Pac blamed his socks. Wilder his costume. It's not even in the top tier of excuse making.

    I agree.

I repeat that I like the guy, and Fury or no Fury, I wouldn't mind seeing him back for one more time, if maybe only for a swan song.

He's got nothing left. He proved that when he got stopped by Bellew a man who he would of decimated in his prime.

And I didn't mind him as a character. I thought he was good for boxing overall.

In theory, yes I agree. In practice, Haye vs Bellew (one and especially, two) was the shell of the shell of a fighter. He's best sticking to being a pundit in bad jackets and coked to the eyeballs....

I never said he faked anything. I said his injuries were overblown. A better fighter would have either fought on despite injury (most fighters get injured during training) or, failing that, not continued to waste his opponent's time. He did neither
As for whether or not Haye was actually scared of Fury, body language says it all

Haye could have maintained dignity and face had he not used that idiotic "toe" excuse after the Wladimir fight. He could have taken the loss like a man and moved on. No one would have complained or remembered his trash talking prior to the fight. Actually, most people would dismiss it as intelligent marketing skills, which it really is, to hype up the fight and score himself a massive payday in the process. But no, he had to take that strange route and be plagued eternally for it.

A fighter getting stitches the week before the fight?
Any fighter that fights with fresh stitches is a moron, and honestly I doubt any credible sanctioning body would even allow him to fight with that.

His body language? He literally signed to fight Fury TWICE.

First time, the got a cut that required stitches the week before the fight.

The second time, he ended up having to get reconstructive shoulder surgery where he couldn't use his arm for 8 months and didn't fight for over 3 years.

If he was so scared, why sign on to fight Fury and lose himself the potential of making millions fighting someone else he wasn't afraid if?

Why waste a year of his career, pretending to want to fight someone, who he has actually too scared to fight, when he could have just fought someone else and ACTUALLY GOT PAID?

I don't even think you believe this story.
