He has done far more than all those "elite":)lol:) fighters you mention, even one that are on the canvas ALL combined. He has the right to retire if he doesn't want to continue.

**** that limited cheat Margo. You bash an ATG like PBF but prop up a bum like Margo. You have some ****ing nerve. Mad that PBF beat all of your favorite fighters most of which with ease, never was knocked down or out and never humbled in the ring. PBF beats all of these so called challengers at 147 like Cotto ot Margo with maybe the exception of Williams deal with it.:hi:

Read the ****ing ESPN article you stubborn son of a *****.:-(
Arum agreed that the split with Mayweather was not on bad terms like their brief breakup last year. In fact, Arum said, "We intend to be back together. Everything with this was honorable and good. I had offered him numbers [for a multi-fight contract extension] that were livable. His expectations are in the stratosphere. He was entitled to buy me out, and he did. We decided this was the best way to handle it. He is a free agent. We have agreed to work with each other [in the future]."

""That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road." (Floyd ended up making over $20 million for Oscar, Arum is obviously upset now)

"Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million." (He was willing to fight Marg, but wanted more against Cotto and Hatton, which was justifiable. Especially with Hatton)

There you go dude. You people are idiotic with the ducking crap. Arum should have given Floyd his money and the fights you wanted would have happened.

    Blame Bob Arum.

PBF did NOt the fight best at welterweight.

The Best are : Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Maragarito.

The author of the article and just about everybody else who is not a blind PBF follower claims the same thing.

How can anybody in his right mind even dispute that? These discussions are becoming pointless if you deny what is totally obvious.

These PBF haters have no credibility. The article clearly states it yet they refuse to admit it...pathetic.:-(

So now, it is is all Arum's fault. Is it also his fault that PBF retired and elects to stay retired? Based on this article, you could also say that PBF outpriced himself. Don't you think that 7 millions are enough to fight the likes of Cotto or what??? PBF has never been a big draw like DH.

The logical choice for PBF is Pacman. I am assuming Manny beats Hatton - which I am fairly certain of. If Shane is willing to fight Mayweather now, perfect. He did decline the offer in '07. That's for sure. I don't see either of Cotto (one of my faves, as everyone knows) or Margarito being in the picture. I think Margo's cred is completely gutted, and Cotto would be handled easily. If people feel the need to see it, so be it. I don't think Cotto's career is best served with that fight right now at all. Paul Williams would also be of considerable interest.

The problem is you fail to address the reason why he didn't. In fact PBF wanted to fight Cotto, Margo and Hatton but Arum lowballed PBF. 7 mil to fight Cotto, Margo and Hatton is bull**** especially when he made 25 mil each to fight Hatton and Oscar.:deal

It's funny how some of you can't even defend your favorite fighter - without degrading another fighter.

Margarito is suppose to be garbage now - Cotto was never any good - and Mosley is shot. All of these statement are being made because Mayweather choice not to fight them. All of these guys are still major players in the WW Division. If Floyd would like to further his Legacy - he'll still have to fight one or two of them at some point.

I think you are missing the point my friend. End of the day he can do what he likes, BUT, any non biased fan of the sport or reporter will question his legacy based on the fact that all these guys people mention (Mosley, Margo, Cotto etc etc) he could and should have beaten. He's better than them, so what's the big deal about fighting to prove it? Robinson did it, Leonard did it, Ali did it... how anyone can not say that he's pissing his god given talent away is beyond me.

There's footage quite readily available where he says "if it makes dollars it makes sense" and then fights Baldomir for less than half of what Margarito offered. That was a legit offer and tbh I said at the time that Floyd has NOTHING to fear from Margarito, he'd have UD'd him 120-108 or stopped him without too much trouble... he only had to step into the ring and do it. Despite his talent, he'll NEVER be mentioned in the same breath as Ali, SRL or SRR.

Are you out of your ****ing mind? PBF was P4P #1 Hell no 7 mil isn't enough not even close and PBF knew it. He knew he could get more and did and that's why he got 25 mil each for facing Hatton and Oscar and 8 mil+ and the linear championship for Baldo. He was proven right and people like you and Arum were proven wrong period end of disucssion.:deal
