but fighting Baldomir for $3.5m USD is okay? Come on bro, you dont reriously believe that garbage do you? I love watching FMJ display his skills as does any 'fan of the sport', but there's too much ignorant 'fan of the fighters' in here it's ridiculous.

Cotto and Margarito have vastly diminished status at this point in time. Margo's major breakthrough WAS Cotto, FFS. Not sure Cotto's people ever really wanted a fight with PBF anyway. Now it would be career suicide. Arum is quoted as saying that PBF would have taken the $8M against Margo. So something else got in the way? Maybe Shane Mosley (who WAS offered a fight in 2007) makes a little more sense than Margarito at this stage anyway? Do you think maybe? :rofl

Yea it is Arum fault. Arumalready said floyd said ok to the 8 mil for marg but not the 7 for hatton and cotto. Arum rejected the idea of 10mil for hatton and cotto. How can Arum with a straight face say he has 8mil for marg but less for hatton and cotto? Both of whom are bigger draws. Floyd made over 20 mil vs Hatton all Foyd wanted was 10mil. Arum missed out.

How can you say that when their careers are still going? That's just silly...

Either way, those guys were and are the cream of the division, Baldomir was a chance belt holder who he faught for almost a 3rd of his 'alleged' demands for Cotto. I realise you are a fan of Floyd, but as a fan of boxing all I want to see is the best fight the best. Being P4P number 1 is about fighting for legacy against the best in their respective divisions... Floyd did that at the lower weights, then he cherry picked his way into retirement with low risk rights. Those aren't the actions of a P4P number one fighter and despite what you avid fans say, history will go with logic... which is for the sake of a paltry $2m he cheapened his legacy. I mean come on bro, what's $2m to Floyd? That should have motivated him to completely dominate these guys I beleive he would have schooled anyway.

I guess you are happy with what he accomplished, but you are in a minority buddy.

Say it again. Arum underestimated the value to PBF big time **** Arum he ruined the oppurtunity of these fights happening. he had the P4P #1 guy in the sport and didn't want to pay him what he was worth.

2 milion is a lot especilly when you consider he got much more money after he left that snake Arum. PBF knew he was getting ****ed and got out and made more money than anyone in pro sports that year except Tiger Woods.:deal You tell me who made the right choice?

in 2006 the best welterweights were zab judah and carlos baldomir..margo was never considered the best at 147 even after his win over cotto he still wasn't the bst and mosley whi is shot destroyed him.

floyd retired and both cotto and margo are defeated..who did sugar ray leaonrd fight in his fourth weight class, what about sugar ray robinson..do your homework before talking about legacy..because it's obvious you don't have a clue.

floyd didn't pull a pacman and fight the weakest champ at 147 he fought the recognized champion at 147..and baldo has never been beaten as badly as cotto and margartio have.:admin:|:smoke:nut:rofl

it's true, it to be considered the undisputed, but you're kidding yourself if you think Baldomir adds more to FMJ's legacy than Cotto or Margarito. I think this is a pointless debate to be honest, I have this funny feeling that had you been at the Baldomir fight you would have been one of the only people to NOT ask for their money back...

Give it 10-20 years time, anyone with half a brain knows that his resume will tarnish his final standing.
