Apparently, it looks as though Wlad and Haye are never going to meet according to this ESPN article, and now Klit has his sites set on Adamek. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=6007881
Wlad could sign a catch weight fight with Koki Kameda and you'd wholeheartedly condone it. Your opinion on anything Klitschko related is about as useful as Floyd Mayweather Sr interview
For all we know, Wlad and Haye are conspiring to build this July fight up. At least that's what I hope. But if it doesnt happen, it's all on Haye, because if Wlad was somehow "unable" to make the fight after Chisora, then Haye could truly claim his reasoning was true. I HOPE this is the case. On and off, on and off, hyping all the way, then when it finally happens, millions of us buy into the $99.99 PPV that it could become, bringing each fighter nearly 25 mil.
Haye and legacy in the same sentence! LoL Can't wait for Haye to retire, and then see him doing the voiceover for chicken run2.
I don't want to sound like an ignorant hater, but I think its a fair criticism to say that Haye has done very little to warrant his being marketed as a superfight for Wladimir Klitschko. In all honesty men like Tim Witherspoon and Mike Weaver certainly did a great deal more to earn the right to wear that WBA belt than Haye has. In fact, its reasonable to conclude that the same strap should have gone to Klitschko upon beating Ruslan Chagaev, given that it was King politics that finnagled that belt into the hands of Haye, and not a meaningful bout. The fact that Haye is already talking retirement at the age of 29, and after beating all but 4 mediocre opponents at heavyweight, basically speaks volumes of his convictions. Who exactly is at fault for Haye vs Klitschko not happening? I'm not sure, and I don't think that any of us are, but one thing is for certain, I don't think Haye or his people truly believes that he can beat Wlad. Regardless, of who is at fault, the match has little meaning in the grand scheme of the division. It has been hyped as a title unification bout, between the division's two best fighters, but that isn't the case. Wlad beating Haye, would only mean that he'd be taking a title back that should already be his, not unifying it, and as for Haye being one of the best, he hasn't done much to confirm this. His best opponent thus far, has been the 36 year old Valuev, who a 47 year old Holyfield fought with the same amount of efficacy as Haye.
"I don't take David Haye as a super-special fight," Klitschko said. "I don't need a half a year to prepare for this fight. I'm always in shape anyway. Me fighting Chisora first is good promotion for the fight with David Haye because the guy is also British and very loud. It's perfect to help promote the big fight."
