Since Ward is American, to go to USA corresponds to the definition of traveling. Bute will fight in his opponent's country. When Kessler went to Wales, he traveled, even if he did not cross an ocean.

I just don't understand why Bute agreed to this fight.

Premise: Promoters make fights happen
Premise: Promoters arrange for fights that generate the most money
Premise: Ward, Froch and Kessler DO appreciate the money that comes from Showtime

You accepted the fact the most money, mainly because of Showtime PPV (we can talk gate #'s all day, you know Le Stade Olympique?) revenues, is in Québec or at least in North America for a Bute fight. Now you know as well as everyone that Hershman wants to max out the profits on Bute, and still has the top 4 @ SMW under contract - unless you can convince me there would be no issue going to HBO, for any of the other 3.

Argument: "The money is in Montreal, yet Bute isn't willing to go to an opponent's backyard."

How the fukk does that make sense?!? That's an opinion, nothing more.

Showtime makes **** happen. Maybe a Euro-exclusive Froch-Kessler fight is possible, but until it's the most relevant fight out there, Showtime is telling people what to fukkin do.

 

Just thought the same thing. I think Kessler earns way more money pr. fight than Bute. Even Stieglitz is supposed to earn more vs. Kessler, than Bute has up til now - so if money is the issue, a Kessler - Bute fight could very well be held in Denmark. Hell even the Romanian fans could drive in cars to the show...................

Its about fighting in others backyard. Kessler has earned the right to fight i Denmark vs. Ward and Bute. If they wants it differently, they have to be ready to pay some serious money...............


If Kessler takes on Froch for a second time, Kessler will have to go to England........onless, there are other serious money issues.....
