Saturday, September 6 12 Rounds Lightweight Amir Khan v Breidis Prescott WBO Super-Featherweight title Alex Arthur v Nicky Cook 12 Rounds Heavyweight Audley Harrison v George Arias I've already caved in :happy
:-( No way am i caving :bart i thought about pressed the red button :blood but im not going to do it :yep **** khan and **** warren :hi:
if it wasn't for the fact that audley and amir did well in the olympics, if it was anyone else at those 2 levels proffesionally (as in amir - rising star yet to fight anyone of real note, audley - back and forth heavyweight) this card would be a good friday fight not certainly not ppv imo
its greed by the khan family, why should he demand so much money when he has not even fought a descent 135 fighter he wont even fight a top domestic fight ffs.:-(
to be honest i'm more interested in tonights rendall munroe card maybe as its got local lads on it. I am excited about Alex Arthur/Nicky Cook, and I'm sure the Amir fight will be entertaining, big Audley not too arsed about, do want him to do well though, just dont think its worth £15 of my money and it'll set a precedent where were expected to pay extra for every half decent card. Don't get me wrong I am gonna watch it in the pub and then probably buy the dvd for my collection. Am I just being tight?? Maybe a little but its more about principles honest lol
Well said, it really rattles me when you think Amir Khan is probably earning 20 times more than people like John Murray yet ducks him :yep
Murray is overrated and I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. He's a decent solid pro but nothing more. Khan would slaughter him. There's a massive difference in talent. The reason Khan is earning 20times more than Murray et al, is mainly because he won a Silver medal at the Olympics when he was still too young to fight in the main ABAs:nut That's an astonishing achievement unprecedented in British boxing
i completely forgot the "boxing season" started again tonight on sky. looking forward to see munroe back in action
I'm not saying Khan's achievements as an amateur weren't great, it just grieves me that he is earning a lot more than boxers who imo he hasn't fought the quality of (me personally I think Murray would give Khan a good fight) and that theres this air of arrogance around him (maybe not him himself) that believes he's too good to bother going for the british titles which would be fine if he was fighting better opponents but he's not. What happened to the old fashioned way of working your way up.
