He gets overlooked for the most part cause hes European. Hes a underrated fighter and I see a lot fail to see the talent.
*Communism They didn't force him. He had no ****ing choice dude. And when things came out he stayed there being there were more programs and opportunities.
Got you, hudson! I was just having a little bit fun! Of course Roy Jones was a great fighter,an artist in the ring. A true pity that Jones vs DM never came off! Anyway! You have to blame both DM and Jones for not fighting each other! And yes, Germany is a part of central europe. You know,Hudson,a black Cuban has almost nothing in common with an African and very little with a black north american. Same here: an eastern european like a Pole has a totally different mentality from a rich and complacent German. I have no clue whether Jones really earned that much money more than DM, but I somehow doubt it. DM was a big star back in his prime in Germany and Poland. I guess that you are right in saying that Jones -all in all- collected the bigger paychecks in his career, but DM for sure wasnt figthing for peanuts either. And lets be honest neither you nor I know exactly why their fight never came off!
DM wasnt a world wide hit,eh! Do you really think that Jones was one, hudson? Or do you think that the USA is the world? Wake up and smell the coffee, mate! Pro boxing is on the decline in the USA. Germany has one of the most imporant fight markets on this planet. American fighters like McCline beg to be given a chance to showcase their skills on German soil. GB is another important fight market. Apart from some superstars like Floyd or De la Hoya and a handful of heavies the vast mayority of fighters can earn far more money fighting in Germany than fighting over there in the states. Nowadays an American fighter has to come over to Germany/Europe to prove that he is ready to take on the best available fighters out there. Well, whether you like it or not western europe has taken command of the pro business. American fighters will get used to it as have a lot of Russians,Ukranians, and other fighters from the countries of the former soviet union.
Well, that's the one side of the medal. I agree, but there's also second side. The second one was that if he chose fighting under Polish flag in 90's, I really doubt he'd get a chance to become a champ. It is kinda forcing - doing shitty stuff to become the best in your vocation.
Why do Poles hate on other Poles who have success in Germany? Some of the hate the Poles (Lukas Podolski and Miroslav Klose) on the German soccer team receive from other Poles is ******ed...
Because they are Polish and they could have played for Poland, but they chose another nation to represent. Besides they played in German representation against Poland in Euro2008 in Austria, Podolski scored twice. Football is national sport in my country that means it is so important for a big part of country and Pole scores 2 goals against his own country playing in opposite national team. Podolski says he loves Poland but our Football Association didn't care him as a footballer at all therefore chose Germany, country which he has been living since he was +-2. Klose says he's German and doesn't care Poland, so **** him. I don't know how you can betray your own country, especially Germany, incase you are Polish - I'm saying so because Germany is the most disliked country in Pole's opinion, because of WW II, people still remember what Germany has done, altho it is really over. Just because of that. I know it's past, but you can't erase it from your mind. I'd like to add that Poles don't hate Michalczewski, they really like him, I think. As andyZOR wrote, he had no '****ing choice' to reach this possibility to become a great boxer in Poland, because of communism. Shortly, much percent of Germans don't like Poles, considering them as alkoholics, car thieves etc and still there's a big dislike, although politician contacts are ok, also much Polish people don't like Germans. It works in two sides. And maybe it is retarted for you, because you can't figure it out, cuz you are not Polish and you haven't lost as much as Polish people lost during 1914-1989. ps. I'm just saying how it is, that's objective, not my opinion, based on my own experience. sorry for offtopic, hope you understood.
