Good Interview: Is Martinez a bad style for Pavlik?

I think he will take what is given him and just continue to work the way he has in training.

I don't know who the **** Doobie and Boo are, by the way, but I'm guessing from their names alone that their input has very little value. What do they do? Scrub Kelly's toilet when you or booradly isn't available?

And Jack Loew is clueless, anyway. If I had a fighter getting the **** kicked out of him, I would repeat "the jab, double the jab" over and over again. His resume is taking Pavlik, a natural puncher, to the top, but failing to give him any skill and guiding Lyell to a win over another bum.

 

jack, if you watch the sergio/margo fight and the sergio/williams fight back to back, you can't help but notice that sergio's mannerisms, movement and habits both good and bad are the same. the only real honest to god noticable difference is his size. the way he circles, the way he holds his hands, the way he lunges in with this lead left...its all there. that's not the be all end all in the fight with kelly. im not saying that. hell many feel it was good enough to beat williams. but who he was then is very similar to who he is now.

 

They are habits that WILL NOT disappear on April 17 if he has had them for 10 years. :deal

Of course Sergio Martinez is a bad style match-up for Pavlik. Anyone with lateral movement is a bad style match-up for Pavlik. Martinez is going to box circles around Kelly.
