It's a disgrace to the division that he was one of the two to go the distance with Vitali

"In the first two rounds I knew I could break him down. But I had a technical injury to my elbow that stopped me from being able to throw my best punches."

He had an elbow injury. He would've KOd Vitali if he could throw his best punches. Guess who he got the idea for an "injury" excuse for a poor performance from?

"If he's still here we're going to fight again after I polish some things up," said the generally unmarked Johnson with a straight face. "In the first two rounds I knew I could break him down. But I had a technical injury to my elbow that stopped me from being able to throw my best punches. My biggest thing is I didn't want to quit. You're not a champion unless you alter your game plan. I didn't tell my trainers about my injuries because I didn't want them to get panicked. That was that."

He must have wrote that excuse on the plane ride to Switzerland. Guy looked fine in there. No injury I noticed. Just really inept or outgunned or both. He did not mount any attack.

He won the event by going the distance. Vitali will run from a rematch.
