Good Kessler video...soon to be unified SMW champ

People hate on Kessler on this forum because he gets completely overrated. The guy you responded to said Kessler would smash Hopkins. Who has ever smashed Hopkins? Kessler's daddy couldn't even smash Hopkins yet Kesssler is? I don't think so. Kessler is a good fighter, but he's nowhere near as good as many on this forum make him out to be.

does the "when top fighters finally decide to fight him" sound familiar to people who have been defending calzaghe for all these years?

someone explain to me how kessler's last 2 opponents gave him more momentum and international appeal than fighting edison miranda and i'll explain why the "top fighters finally decide to fight him".

either people aren't reading my posts or they're choosing not to...

forget a fighter's record and forget the belts (to a point). who you fight will dictate who is interested in fighting you because if it doesn't turn into a financial viable option you haven't earned the respect and finacial muscle to court the big boys.

it's much less to do with who is interested in fighting mikkel, but if mikkel is interested in giving his promoter a kick up the ass.

everyone knows kessler is better than the chumps he's been fighting this year, but fighting them isn't going to interest guys like hopkins.

after saying that, it's very ironic that mads larsen (fighting this weekend), who has made a career out of fighting euro bums and who has a 50-2 'record', may well score a lucian bute fight early next year.

 

i love watching him fight, train, everything. theres a lot to learn from him.

and kessler did the hard work pre-calzaghe with the guys he beat and still had good rep internationally after the calzaghe fight - but what he's done since then is going to bury him if he doesnt wake up and get team palle to take his career seriously.

it's not "hate" people are talking about. many are being realistic.

and it's just not realistic saying kessler would whip hopkins since he's never beaten a fighter of hopkins' class - and that fact will remain until team palle make the jump kessler himself wants so much (trust me, i've talked to him about it and also said why he's not getting them..)

mikkel did beat many top ranked super middles pre-calzaghe. much better opposition that calzaghe was fighting over 3 years or so, but that was a platform to the world stage and it's almost as if palle is trying to rob him of that.

 

i have said it many times:Kessler will rule the SMW division!!
everybody is avoiding him,that is a fact.And that is why he dosen´t fight more often!!
Kessler is WBA champ. so why are the BIG names not hunting him,and he´s title??
Kessler is dangerous to ANY opponent...all the fighters in SMW. knows it.
WHO at 168,would bust he´s ass??

thats the whole point, henrik. and i think kessler is the best SM out there too.

top fighters dont hunt down contenders, contenders earn the right to fight them by beating internationally established names which raises their market value and THAT'S what makes big fights happen.

why do think oscar de la hoya could come out of 2 years retirement and fight mayorga for a title? because he's the "golden boy" in more ways than one.

every time kessler fails to fight a genuine international opponent he falls back into obscurity more and more.

ask yourself what would happen if felix sturm tried to fight kelly pavlik right now and you'll see what i mean.

why should the guy who's done the hard work on the international stage give a dream title shot to the guy who hasn't proved himself on the world stage yet but is racking up wins against lesser opponents?

no-one's dodging kessler, his promoter is dodging his future. thats all.

The Kessler loving is starting to get far too much on this site. The guy is 30 and still hasn't ever beat anyone of note.
