John has plenty of heart that's for sure, I just wish he'd stop leading with his face! He has a fighters chance that's for sure, and yes I'm English too, but this Englishman will be rooting for my our man, but more in hope than expectation.
Good luck John... Tough fight to take after getting stopped, deserves credit for bravery, despite what people think of his limited skillset.
I've never been so certain of an outcome to a fight. That's not exactly a bold claim. Murray has no chance, but good luck to him.
this fight shouldnt even be happening it should be sturm/macklin 2. but we all know zee germans are ducking ****s so for that i hope murray smashes felix into pieces and ends his joke of a career
So you dont support British fighters against other non british opponents? I must admit that is a bit weird, I dont really understand why you wouldnt support your own, even if your a jock and he's english.
So should he just quit the sport ? Do fighters who are not top drawer not warrant getting support ? Surely it must get boring rooting for the superior boxer everytime ?
Seconded. It's a huge ask, but fair play to him for taking it. Before the Mitchell fight most would've had him down as the best lightweight in the UK, and though that fight was ended by a devastating stoppage, and his unbeaten record's gone, he's still got all the offensive tools needed to trouble anyone. Sure, there are questions about his defence, and how the Mitchell defeat might've effected him, but i'm sure Rios won't be taking him lightly. I'd like to see him getting in with Ricky Burns at some point.
I cant remember supporting any foreigner against a Brit other than Barrera as I wanted him to beat Khan. Even Brits I dislike usually get my backing, DeGale against the Pole the other week for example, I just can't go DeGale and his antics but despite that I still unintentionally find myself wanting him to win as soon as the fight starts.:huh That said, I am guessing with someone like flea that has a more vast knowledge of the Sport he therefore has more of an affinity/connection with the overseas fighters as he's maybe seen more of them, or maybe even prefers certain styles or class of fighters, so doesn't automatically support the Brits. Am I somehow "brain-washed" or programmed to support our lads? :think
