Thanks everybody.... but I lost a close decision. Judges scored it 27-23 against me unfortunately. I fought a freak of nature, a light welter well over 6 feet. In the first round he clocked me with a right hand from hell immediately, I took two or three of them in the first 30 seconds. After that I came back strong, first round was about even. Second and third round were mine according to the public, everyone came to me to tell me that I should have won. I hit him with a big right in the third that wobbled him, but I could not follow up with my strongest punch, the left hook. The only punch he could really land was his big right hand, which admittedly was big. But he only landed it solidly in the first round, I blocked a lot of them once I knew they were coming.

I'm actually pleased with the result, he had home field advantage and everyone thought I won. I haven't seen the tape yet, so I honestly can't tell if that's correct but they all told me view the tape and you'll agree that you won. In my mind it was close and he edged it, fair enough. A bit of a moral victory though, because everyone said I should have won and loads of people came to me to shake my hand. I did not let my gym down and I did not black out in the moment of heat, which is worth a lot to me. I'm ready for the second match, bring em on. Video will hopefully follow later, it wasn't filmed by any of my gym mates but hopefully I'll get it mailed to me this week.

Everyone thanks for the support I really appreciate it. Better luck next time :good

Don't worry mate. Your story is very similar to mine. I lost a close decision which at the time I thought he won but after watching the tape it was a lot closer. I was just ****ed at the end, I hurt and stunned him but failed to follow it up.

I should have being fighting again this month but I hurt my knee in that fight and it keeps coming back to haunt me so I'm going have to have some time off which is depressing. Anyway, keep your chin up(well down really) and just learn from the fight.

Yay! Well done RDJ. Win or lose, doesn't matter. If you're happy with your performance and you learned something to take back to the gym then it was a success.

    I'm happy for you. Congrats.

Sounds like an exciting fight and an excellent performance, especially for a first (?) fight, gefeliciteerd! Did the right hand in the 1st stun you?
