Would be disappointed if AJ risks his showdown with Fury for a defence against Usyk. The winner between AJ is the man at the weight no matter which belts he holds.

    This

I didn't pay for last night, but I will certainly not pay to watch this tentative boxer against anyone other than Fury

    Promoters think we are mugs

If I want to watch running, I will just watch clips of Usain bolt

So we are in a lose, lose situation because no matter how it plays out we don't end up with an undisputed heavyweight champion.

Sucks but we all know the sanctioning bodies rarely do things in the interest of the sport. I mean how many years did WBO champion Calzaghe not fact his mandatory Freeman Barr or how about Wilder only facing 2 mandatories during his lengthy reign and Stevenson also getting pass after pass and not facing his mandatory.

If I was Joshua I'd accept he isn't going to get the undisputed shot next so the next best thing is to just fight Fury and get the one belt he hasn't gotten before and give the fans the best fight available. Fact is whoever he faces the other fighters fans will call duck so it's pointless pandering to idiots and just make the best fight possible which right now is Fury.

What is it with this BS narrative?
The **** did AJ, Fury and Wilder do to deserve their title shots?

Usyk is one of the best P4P boxers in the world. He was also the undisputed Cruiserweight champ. Don´t you want to see the best fighting the best?

I swear, I never see any of this BS at lower weights. "He needs to prove himself". He already has.

Usyk should take the step aside money. He needs to get in touch with a certain Mr. Fields who can give him a connect to the best pharmaceutical drugs so he can deal with these big oafs.

At least one win against a legitimate contender at heavyweight . That's not too much to ask of a fighter. Go ahead and pretend like cleaning out cruiserweight means something. It never has and it never will

 Again, who the **** did AJ, Wilder and Fury beat?
That´s right, not a single damn top 10 contender.

Meanwhile Usyk cleared out a stacked Cruiserweight division and cemented himself as one of the best P4P guys in the world.

Do you ***** and moan like this when guy at lower weight jump up?

This is an odd comment to post because boxing is not a sport where only the "deserved" challenge for belts.

    In recent times:

Glazkov and Martin competed for a vacant belt - what had either done?
Breazeale, Stiverne Duhaupas, Szpilka, Arreola, Washington, Molina, Takam and now Pulev all challenged for titles - on what basis?

Look at Wladimir Klitschko's most recent reign: Mormeck, Leapai, old Rahman, Chambers, Pianeta, Brock, Austin all got title shots.

Save it with the "but those were voluntary" - a champion's duty is to select worthy opponents, otherwise they lose credibility. This entire forum has the rose tinted specs on regarding Wladimir Klitschko these days but everybody complained about such opponents.

If anyone says Oleksandr Usyk doesn't deserve a title shot, then they are biased beyond belief. Who, exactly, deserves a title shot over him? The forum's darling Michael Hunter? Who has only beaten absolute puddings at the weight and got a gift draw against Povetkin (he was knocked down and it was not counted).

Oleksandr Usyk is an incredible talent and anybody who doesn't want to see him up against the biggest names is a fanboy who doesn't love boxing. The only bouts which are arguably bigger are those involving a combination of Wilder, Fury or Joshua. He is right up there.

Besides that Hunter point, I agree with everything.
Never, ever, will you hear anyone complain about a lower weight champion moving up weight and having to prove himself.

Usyk will be dealt with like Parker. Stuck on the outside and eating a barrage of jabs, once he feels the power of the bodybuilder. Boring points win for Joshua if the fight gets made.

This is debatable and only A.J fans etc like ppl are thinking that it is this kind of match.

While Fury vs Wilder had ended in the U.S with a draw and TKO win.
A.J vs Ruiz fights had ended with TKO loss and win on points by circling and keeping panda at distance.

A.J really needs to prove that he is real champ :Dand take 3 rd fight vs Ruiz. He is 1-1 vs Ruiz and more than this : he get stopped and managed to win rematch only on points.
For A.J fans ofc with this is enough and bodybuilder now looks better than Ruiz. WoW.
He must beat Ruiz in 3 rd fight to PROVE that he is true champion. :nonono

So Louis never became the man at HW because he was 1-1 with Schmeling and Hagler never became the man at MW because he was 1-1 with Watts? Leonard never became the man at WW because he was 1-1 with Duran? Patterson because he never beat Maxim? Lewis because he was only 1-1 with McCall and Rahman?

And if AJ beats Fury with no controversy, who else would have a case for being the man at HW in your opinion?
