Showed me a couple of things. 1- Didn't go overly crazy after the cut, kept his composure this time even though he was more active. 2- He has a lot of stamina. 3- Actually fought BETTER in the latter rounds, didn't stay so flat footed and moved around quite a bit. 4- He's a good speaker. That said, I thought Demarco was a little bad... too passive.
I dont think he is a good fighter, once he fight better oposition he will be out, he has a great heart, thats all I can say
Yeah, Valero definitely looked great. I was hoping for that KO, but he still got the stoppage. Definitely not as one-dimensional as everyone thinks, and he'll give anybody around that weight a rough time. I still think Pacquiao and Floyd both beat him though, but at 135, I honestly can't think of anybody who can.
You better believe he'll check your boy Gamboa's chin, though I do like Yuriorkis...that'd be a great fight.
Future ATG in the making, but he needs a change in his corner. If my cutman told me early in the fight that he cant stop the bleeding I would plead my trainer to try to get the fight stopped.
Valero seems to have that Pacquiao effect he just breaks fighters with his will, power and intensity and speed. Can he do this at elite world class level against prime 135 + fighters who knows but i've gone from doubting his ability to seeing someone with very good ability when he wants to use it. Seems to have different layers to his boxing...depending on level of opponent.
I was a lil scared after the first round cuts and even more scared after the elbow cut. DeMarco landed that nice right hook of his a couple of times but it wasn't enough. His caution was a result of tasting Valero's power. By the time it was round 8ish DeMarco knew that to win he had to slug it out and he knew he wouldn't survive that. He did give Valero a scare though. Haters can hate all they want about Valero's "primitive" style but he has several things that no one can deny. 1. Very good cumulative power although perhaps not Julian Jackson-like 1 punch KO power. 2. Good chin and heart. 3. Good stamina and carries his power throughout the fight. 4. Although he has a poor basic stance he is good at leaning back and hopping away from punches and at slipping punches.
don't think he's ready for pac or mayweather but i like his chances against robert gurrero, juan diaz, ali funka, and devon alexander, and most of the 135-140 champs. don't think he can beat timothy bradley, or juan marquez (depends how much he has left after mayweather). i might get **** on for this but i think valero will beat the **** out of khan. if he touches khan on his glass chin, it's over.
I think he'd beat the hell out of Marquez. I don't think JMM has much after the Floyd fight. Now Marquez a few years ago, that's another story.
