As much as I hate the fact that so many top fighters will no longer be seen on HBO for the forseable future, I congradulate Ken Hershman and HBO for finally having the balls to stand up to GBP and Haymon and tell them to take a hike. For too long HBO has been played like suckers by powerful promoters and managers (not only GBP/Haymon... King and Arum pulled the same ****) They have consistently overpaid their "house fighters" for ridiculous mis-matches nobody wants to see just to keep these scam artist promoters and managers happy... Always under the veiled threat that "If you fk with us, we'll pull our "star" fighters to another network". HBO put out millions over the years building up alot of these GBP/Haymon fighters, only to have them yanked over to Showtime whenever there was a dispute over money, dates or opponents. Nice way to do business. :blood Loosing access to all the Golden Boy fighters is a huge kick in the nuts and will definately hurt their numbers. But HBO is still the king of big-time boxing in most people's minds... It's about time they grew a pair and quit acting like a bunch of small town rubes who just fell off the turnip truck. Same goes for Top-Rank and all the rest... The HBO message should be: "Bring us good competative fights with the best guys available and we'll provide the HBO platform, and all the money and hype that goes along with it. If not... Take a fkn hike!" :hi:
I hear where you're coming from to a certain extent but ultimately I do not care. As long as we get good fights that's all what matters to me being a boxing fan.
Judah vs Garcia Brooks vs Alexander Lucas vs Peterson Mres vs de leon Canelo v Trout :happy Yep,no problem with golden boy right now
