Fine makes sense but I just want to clarify a point. Martial arts and boxing are totally different in many ways. In your previous posts you justified your facts by explaining how much "amateur" experience you have in the past. You mudded up the term amateur to confuse the reader. You do not have any boxing experience that was sanctioned by USA Boxing.

    truepwrz said the following:
"1. i have 4 wins in amateurs and only lost once
    2. i won all 3 smokers i ever fought in
    3. i am registered in uskba and wku as amateur kickboxer"

A definition of martial arts - Martial arts are systems of codified practices and traditions of training for combat.

A martial art is just a fighting style, boxing isn't special in any way.

The example you pulled from Wikipedia is good but you left out the full meaning. It also said that martial arts are tied to spiritual and religious beliefs. Also mentions non-spirit of honor and traditional forms called "kata". All of these things are practiced more so in asian dojo's than in a boxing gym. Boxing has many, many years of history in martial arts but boxing gyms do not practice traditional ways or traditional arts during training. Martial arts is just a term but the term is used to refer to asian combat sports. I am not sure why but you don't hear anybody use the term martial arts when referring to boxing. And boxers do not refer themselves to martial artists unless the boxer has a degree in Philosophy.

But don't take my word for it, here are some other definitions:

    Dictionary.Com
Martial Arts: Any of the traditional forms of Oriental self-defense or combat that utilize physical skill and coordination without weapons, as karate, aikido, judo, or kung fu, often practiced as sport.

    Urbandictionary.com
Lists definitions for 30 traditional martial arts

So why doesn't your grandma hook your mom up a bit, living in her $90,000 median income suburb?

i never had a camera either...

just wondering if your actually training in a gym how hard would it be to ask one of your gym mates or sparring partner bring a camera and video tape the sparring match, thats all i ask for a video to evaluate your skill level.

unlike you tho, i respect everyone that has the guts to actually spar with enough contact and will give you props for it

Okay, the full example - Martial arts are systems of codified practices and traditions of training for combat. They may be studied for various reasons including combat skills, fitness, self-defense, sport, self-cultivation/meditation, mental discipline, character development and building self-confidence, or any combination of the above.

I'd say boxing helps with combat skills, self defence, sport, self-cultivation, mental discipline, character development and self confidence.

Some martial arts are linked to spiritual or religious beliefs/philosophies such as Buddhism or Shinto while others have their own spiritual/non-spiritual code of honor.

That's one point where boxing is different.

Who said this? Maybe traditional martial arts refers to asian arts but not just martial arts.

    Um, this means nothing.

Martial arts vary widely, and may focus on a specific area or combination of areas, but they can be broadly grouped into focusing on strikes, grappling, or weapons training. Below is a list of examples that make extensive use of one these areas; it is not an exhaustive list of all arts covering the area, nor are these necessarily the only areas covered by the art but are the focus or best known part as examples of the area:

StrikingWhy is it difficult to see boxing as a martial art?

I did not say that boxing was not martial artists. My first post that boxing and martial arts are different and the second post I said that boxing has many years of martial arts history. You can brake it down however you want to get your point across that boxing is a martial art. I agree with you. I was trying convey that martial arts is typically looked at as an asian sport performed in a dojo instead of a boxing gym.
