Problem is PW already got 40 something fights under his belt. Since he has been a top fighter, there were really no improvements he's made to his game. I don't see that changing any time soon.

  2. he does have a lot of fights, but he is still young. at 29, he still has a few very good years. look at martinez. the guys 35 and is just now starting to be dominant in his division. if PW trains better and improves his defense, he could be a very dangerous man in 3 or 4 years time. he could clean out the division. im afraid that the brutatliy of the knockout he suffered might have traumatized him. we'll have to wait and see.

A regular count out knockdown would be easier to shake off, but to get faceplanted, that gets inside a fighters head. He'll be OK for other opponents, but Martinez is inside his head now..

PW is a clown that doesn't deserve anything, at least not a rubbermatch. Did he give one to Quintana, who gave him a clinic for 12 rds in their first fight? NO! Quintana once again reiterated his interest in a rubbermatch after sparring with PW in preparation to this fight, saying he knows how to beat him but that PW isn't interested (this is in Primerahora.com). For some reason I DO believe Quintana. Fact is CQ beat him once, Cintron was clearly tapping that ass until the weird outcome and should've gotten the dec. that night, AND NOW Martinez stopped the hype with a BANG! WE know Williams doesn't usually like to give rematches so he doesn't deserve one here as well. pW should fight his way back up by finishing what he started with Cintron at least. CQ & Margarito r good rematches as well. I think Margarito would tap that ass in a rematch and could possibly make 4 a good revenge fight 4 Martinez/Margarito, where Martinez would send Margarito into retirement.

It is the second time that Martinez sends Williams to the canvas.
Martinez has improved since his first fight against WILLIAM.

This will have knocked all the confidence out of Williams,he wont be the same after this.He has had nothing but praise heaped on him and truly felt he could beat anyone in the light middle and middle divisions. He wont want a rematch straight away,he will need some warm up fights. If he does get straight back in with Martinez again it will end in another defeat for Williams.

I thought the first round was close....PW won by a slight margin, but that's irrelevant, because he got laid out soon after. No need for an immediate rematch.
