While he was away he dropped to 2nd understandably, then he came back and beat p4p #4 Marquez, then he beats Mosely (who Manny refused to fight) p4p # 3 who he absolutely dominated.

Mora didnt do sh!t thats why they got a DRAW! Let me remind you that if Shane is shot then what the hell is Margo? Where was Clottey on p4p list?

The P4P list has become a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately type of list. I thought it was a hypothetical measurement, among active fighters, of how a fighter's skill set would fare, in any weight division. In that sense, Floyd is #1, Manny's #2, and Martinez is #3, since he just beat the #3 guy, IMO.

 

Marquez was p4p #4 at 130 & 135, not at Welterweight.

Old Mosley, who was made to look good by a Margo worried about losing his licence or going to jail, so did not have his mind on the job, hadn't fought for 15+ months and was clearly past it, as his next fight with Mora showed.

Its very possible to drop in rankings based on inactivity. and you might as well pencil maravilla over floyd since floyd ain't gonna be fighting anytime soon.

 

I don't know...thought he said he was taking about a year off. Anyway, if Margarito can get KTFO, caught for cheating, suspended for a year, fight a lackluster tuneup, then be ranked #1 by the WBC at 154, and competing, undeservedly, against the #1 fighter in boxing for a vacant strap....why can't Floyd hold his position at #2 P4P, after dominating the super champion (at WW) and formerly #3 P4P fighter, just 6 short months ago? If his last bout was against Marquez, I could see him getting bumped down the list. But, that's just not the case.

Can't you grasp that making JMM try to add 10 pounds of fat to his frame to go up and fight a much bigger man, means that JMM is not going to be capable of the sorts of performances that got him considered #3 or #4 p4p in the first place?

Clottey fight was just a filler coz Floyd chickened out.

Yes Shane is past it, but that was hidden to a large degree by Margo's head not being in the game(or do you think getting caught would not be playing on his mind?), and by the time Shane had fought Floyd, a further 15+ months had passed since Shane's last fight.

 

You can't beat an unbeaten resume? So if Ali and SRR have losses on their record... by your logic Floyd is better than them in ATG rankings?
