I follow Pav pretty close cuz he is the home town boy. I've never heard that. Allen Green is another story. After Arum hung up on Greg Leon, Greens promoter tried to call back and accept the fight. Arum wouldn't even take his call. First I've heard Winky came back hat in hand.

That one is hard to believe. After scouting things out they had ruled out Cleveland and decided on a low budget affair in Ytown with Kelly taking a hefty pay cut. I don't think Winky would have taken 40% of what Kelly made in Youngstown. It would have been at least a million less than the $1.25 he already turned down.

lol dont **** w/ the bob father. i wish i could say i read more about winky post-offer, but all i read was an article where he was being interviewed trying to explain why things fell apart saying he'd still want the fight or something like that. i have nothing specific like ray is talking about

That's as unbiased as it gets...people call fighters duckers 2 make the fighter they like to look good, or the fighter they dislike to look bad.

To be fair at the end of the day, 99% of us are drama queens. Even if a situation is as plain as "their schedules couldn't match up", we need SOME drama.

Personally, I could do with facts and reasoned speculation. I don't have time for the crap, which is why I get 'short' with some folks.

At one point I had a full time job, was going to school part time and had a part time business. On a telescope making list someone remarked it took me three sentences to say what had taken them three paragraphs and my three sentences said it better. My time was at a premium, as it is now so I was succinct. At least with telescope making, things are a little more factually oriented. However, ignore well established facts to make a point..... I just really can't tolerate that.

Ya Jack has a show saturday at the saxon club. I will be there with Tom Cordell and maybe Jeremy. Tom has some guys fighting. We're helping put together some boxing and MMA stuff saturday at the B&O downtown for Vet Aid National. It's from 4-11 Live bands and we're having Jiu-Jitsu exhibitions, Billy lyell is sparring Tommy Joseph and Harry Arroyo is going to do some "Spar with the champ" for fun (BIG gloves of course!) You should come down our portion starts at about 5:45-9:00 it's $10 to get in.

Winky said he would fight Pav in his hometown, but the largest venue holds 7200 people, so it was just Winky-Speak.

Winky also accused KP of ducking him. However, Team Pavlik called Winky out several times when KP was on the way up. Winky wouldn't bite, and you can't blame him for not taking a high risk/low reward fight with a virtual unknown.

After KP beat Taylor, Winky started the ducking talk and wanted a fight. Arum told him to go beat up Sturm, and come back with something to offer (the WBA title) and they could make a deal. Winky took no action. A bit later, when Kelly needed a fall 2008 opponent, Arum offered Winky $1.4 million and a cut of the PPV. The offer to others was $1.25, but Winky was worth more, and Pavlik wanted to "smack him around for a few rounds." Winky ultimately turned the fight down, and then tried to get Abraham. Sauerland low balled Winky, and made a fight with LuJaun Simon. Winky ended up fighting Williams. That's the history.

I've heard this. I've also heard that he wasn't low balled by Sauerland...just that he was legit demanding 2 mil or greater for a fight. Eventually he got it though against P Williams.

This is the best fight for both fighters at 160. I rather see pavlik vs williams than pavlik vs mora. Hope they can still make this fight happen and put it as the co main event for pac-cotto fight in november.

    Pac-Cotto
    Pavlik-Williams
would be a bad azz PPV

EVEN if Pavlik/Williams happens, Arum wouldn't put it on PPV. I can see them (camp PW) demanding a share of the PPV and that's not happening.
