Pavlik is not a big enough draw either. Maybe in Atlantic City but with the big name opponents like Taylor and Hopkins but other then that, Pavlik is not big enough draw. You kiss up to Pavlik way too much.

60/40 is ok with me cause Pavlik is the champion but i understand why Goosen asking for a 50/50 split cause beside being the champ Pavlik ain't really a draw. On ppv buys, Pavlik vs Taylor rematch was terrible. Same with Hopkins vs Pavlik in which ppv buys were terrible as well. Also Williams is not really a full fledge mw. Also Goosen has a point that the last big fight Pavlik fought, he got his ass whooped by a 43 years old Hopkins while Williams last fight he easily beat Wright. Yes Wright is past his prime but not a shot fighter by any means. It's like the slogan said "what have you done for me lately?"

Can't blame Goosen, Williams has options at 147, 154 and 160 if any accept to fight him. Pavlik is the one with not big enough names in his division other than Sturm and Sturm isn't that big either. Pavlik isn't a draw either so I don't see the problem here.

Goosen clearly appoached Arum with an attitude that said he thought 50/50 was doing Pavlik a favor. It's no big surprise that Arum told him to get lost. In the long run Williams isn't worth as much as Sturm or Balzsay. Sturm has a title Pavlik wants. Balzsay would make Pavlik a 2 division world titlist, and postition him for a HUGE fight with Bute. Williams offers Pavlik a chance to beat up a welterweight.

Pavlik brings 10-15,000 fans with him. He's the great white hope. He's certainly a bigger draw than Williams.

Balzsay is not not well known like Williams so don't go there. Sturm hasn't beat anybody recently worth a damn. People seem to forget Sturm loss by tko to freaking Castillejo for freaking sakes and barely got by a bum fighter in his last fight. And Sturm beside facing out of shape De la hoya, is not well known like Williams. Yes Sturm has a belt but a paper one at that but look at hbo, they offering 2 million in which it be 50/50 split in Pavlik vs Sturm. Even hbo knows Pavlik ain't a draw.

The issue is the split, and split is decided by which fighter brings more money to the table. DLH constantly got a bigger split despite having been beaten time and time again, because he had more fans. Simple as. Pavlik brings more money in the PW.

He's the great overrated fighter as far as i'm concern. He's not a bigger draw then Williams. Take away the Taylor, Hopkins fight and could Pavlik sell out atlantic city fighting bums?

Did you just compare Pavlik to De la hoya as far as of more fans? Nobody in boxer is close to a huge draw like De la hoya. Pavlik needs a big name opponent to help him out with ticket sells and ppv buys.

Its not done because boxing is corrupt as it is.......there are too many bad decisions that are rendered as it is.....

......imagine the politics and the pockets that would be greased by promoters to the right people in the right places so that their fighters could get the benefit of the doubt.......

Can you imagine say Williams or Pavlik outright getting shamelessly robbed and to boot the fighter getting robbed also is getting robbed in his pocket books.

If we had splits of the winner getting the better end of it, bad decisions would increase.......thats why we cant have that.

Ray I think you are missing the whole ****ing point. The point is Goosen killed the fight, because he has no freaking clue how to negotiate. He basically approached Arum and said, 'My guy is with more money than yours, but I'll do ya a favor and give your guy 50%.' How ****ing smart is that?

Honestly not very smart cause Arum thinks his guy (Pavlik) is the biggest draw since De la hoya so of course Arum would say no. I still don't think Pavlik is a bigger draw then Williams. I think they are tie as far as draw is concern imo. I really hope that fight happens and if it does my money is on Williams.

Exactly! I like Pwill but the hype surrounding this guy is amazing. I don't think he is ready for Pavlik, NOR ANYONE AT SMW! He would honestly get hurt. The guy has NEVER been in with a puncher much less a kelly or Arthur. I have seen more crazier things in my life but his build looks like he could get damaged with a couple of strong mw or Smw punches. Then again he cracked p4p so someone sees something with Pwill.
