Every time the subject of Paul Williams comes up, I watch how you never fail to jump at the chance of spewing this ridiculous garbage about how Paul is not ready. You are a blind supporter of Pavlik, and there is nothing wrong with it. But the way you try to talk as if you have all this inside info is bull****. You claiming to know someone who knows someone doesn't change one glaring fact: Kelly Pavlik has been about as visible as Carlos Quintana ever since he got his ass slapped around like a hooker on Friday by Bhop, and he is quickly becoming one of the laughing stocks of boxing whether you, boo, pipe, kracka, or anyone else wants to admit it.
If the fight is @ 160 and for the ring belt, then the offer should be 40/60 for the belt holder. You negotiate up to 45/55. You dont come to the table and say nothing less then 50/50. PWilly is not the champ. He needs to get real or back the f*** up.
When you said once you were still in school and had to make class, I assumed college, not kindergarten. My mistake. It won't happen again.
Williams is not the promoter so he ain't making the demands. It's his promoter that is making an offer. Yes Williams is not the champ but Pavlik is not in the top 10 p4p (Williams is i believe) and Pavlik just like Williams is not in reality a draw. Williams has been on a row while Pavlik isn't. <<So 50/50 is not bs. If i was Williams promoter, i would give Pavlik 60 percent of the purse just so the fight can happen.
Are you happy now? Good. Now focus on the facts. I am not arguing about the purse split. That **** means nothing to me. I don;t give a flying **** about Goosen and Arum either.
This isn't about negotiating. This is about them knowing Pdub ain't ready for Pavlik and trying to make it look to their ardent fans that Pavlik is scared of little ole Pwilly. For all of his protestation to the contrary, dicksuckenaiken ain't fooling no one but himself.
Somethin wrong with a vacation. If you call makin a mexican fighter cry "no mas, no mas" in his corner a laughin stock then get a life.
You fools get on my nerves, all you are spouting is nonsense, especially you. Yes Goosen is wrong for asking 50/50 and Williams is implicated too. If he wants the fight then he needs to talk to his promoter and they need to make a real offer. Who cares that Williams has won 4 in a row, he's not even ranked at 160.
How is Williams implicated? Again he's not the one that offer 50/50 it's Goosen you ******. Of course Williams is not ranked at 160 pounds cause he isn't a full fledge middleweight but he is rank top 10 p4p while Pavlik isn't in which should tell you something. Why you say who cares? A fighter that is winning 4 fights 3 out of 4 came by ko's is a great one. Hell Williams last fight he easily beat Wright. The same Wright that was willing to give Pavlik 60 percent of the purse and even willing to fight Pavlik in Pavlik back yard but Pavlik, Joew, Arum ignored it. So if you want to go there with Williams don't want to fight Pavlik then i can say the same that Pavlik don't want to fight Wright cause he knows he will lose.
All good points. That's why the thread title is about Goosen, not anyone ducking anyone. I occasionally work with a guy who is a good boxing fan. He's not hardcore like an ESB fanatic, but he is a good fan. About 3 months ago I was talking to him about Pavlik/Abraham. I did not mention PWilly. He said; "I'd rather see him fight Paul Williams. I've never heard of Abraham." There is nothing wrong with Williams getting somewhere between 40 and 50 percent. However, Goosen's approach to Arum was plain stupid. Now, a little food for thought. I have no idea if this could be done, but what if the parties involved threw us a real curve ball? Pavlik/Wright, co-feature, Williams/Sturm. Here's what I think that would do: 1, it would do good ratings on WCB; 2, it would settle a 4 year old feud between Pavlik and Wright; 3, it would give PW a title at 160; 4; it would make KP/PW a PPV atraction where both get a great payday; 5; with wins over Winky and Sturm no one could say Paul is a welterweight or light middleweight. 6; the final fight, Pavlik/Williams, would establish an absolute ruler at 160.
Williams should take 60/40 if Goosen lets him, the kudos he'll get for beating Pavlik will give him huge paydays moving forward. If he thinks he can do it that is.
Yeah right . . . isn't more known. But you see Pavlik is an established belt holder at middle weight while Williams is not even at the top 10 ratings of all (WBC;WBA;IBF;WBO) boxing governing bodies lists. Even at Junior Middle only WBO has him on their ratings . . . so it's a stupid move to ask for a 50/50 against a belt holder. :deal
Williams will have to make his move now and find a new promoter. Otherwise he is going to be just another wasted talent.
