Goosen said that after Williams beat Margarito, the only person that called out Williams was Cintron and after that Goosen talk with Main Events ( Cintron promoter at that time) about unification showdown of Williams vs Cintron. In which that fight was schedule in february but Cintron injured his hand badly in the Feliciano fight. So after Cintron injury in which he can't fight Williams in february, Goosen try to secure big names like Judah, Mosley and Margarito for Feb but none wanted to fight Williams. So the only person that was willing to fight Williams was Quintana. Goosen says " Paul wanted to unify the titles. Cintron suffer a injury to his hand that force the fight to cancel so after that i reached out to Arum to stage a fight of Margarito vs Williams rematch but Arum clearly said no. So eventually Quintana was the only one that wanted to fight Williams. But Paul wanted Margarito. Nobody wanted to step in the ring with Williams. Not Margarito, Not Judah, Not Mosley, Not Cintron ( who could have fought Williams in april but refuse)." Goosen made a statement regarding Margarito vs Clottey rematch " He's going to make less by fighting Clottey while he can make more of 4 million dollars by fighting Williams. The same with Cintron, He Fought Margarito rematch for a few hundred Thousands while he could have made a million on the table to fight Williams."
Also i want to add that Williams said in the post fight interview and the post press conference that he wanted to fight Cotto but Arum said no saying " Williams didn't impress me at all. He clearly loss to Margarito."
This information is really old news. Goosen spoke about this when the fight with Quintanna was in the works. margarito is not too earger to face Paul. Thats pretty clear

I can't believe the ones claiming Williams is scared of Margarito when he already fought him and beat him, also he's the one showing far more interest when it's supposed to be other way around. All this Williams is "Scared" is pure bull****.
The fighters ain't scared of no one.....it's the promoters who are in the way like they always are. You can't blame Marg for wanting to fight DLH after him saying that he will fighter the winner of his previous fight. That would be a superfight, and who doesn't want that. I think if DLH wasn't vocal about fighting the winner Margarito would've been set to fight Williams already, because who else would there be at WW?
Way Wrong. If De la hoya didn't mention " i would like to fight the winner of Margarito vs Cotto fight" Margarito would still called out De la hoya and ignore a fight vs Williams rematch.
I don't know if he would have or not...but DLH was clearly lying when he said he'd face the winner...and Margo should realize that already, and take care of the PW business..
