He knocked out old Rock (old Rock, even the one that almost got KTFO by Zuri Lawrence >>>> Arreola, primed out, at his ideal weight - whatever that is - and on his best night).

Tony Thompson and Eddie Chambers would beat him imo :deal

I start giving Arreola his props if he beats anyone any one of the following:

    Ruslan Chagaev
    Nikolai Valuev
    Alexander Povetkin
    Alexander Dimitrenko
    Eddie Chambers
    Juan Carlos Gomez
    Lamon Brewster
    Sam Peter
    Tony Thompson

And McCline had retired, developed a big belly, lost all conditioning, and took the fight on short notice...........

I give that win less creedenced than I do the Walker win, where Arreola was put down, I might add.

all that and McCline still gave Arreola trouble with his uppercuts....at one point it looked like he was holding Chris up........if McCline had come in shape he would have stopped Arreola and the hype as well

We'll find out who it is soon anyways, it could be someone like Toney I'm guessing.

If the fight is indeed meant to take place at LA Staples, Goossen needs a huge name to fit the bill... Lyakhovich, Maskaev can't be considered as a major draw for amercan fans. Brewster is now linked with a german promoter who solely uses him to fill german cards, so that leaves him out.

    My guess would be:

    * Toney - former champ with lots of fan recognition in the LA area as he lives there. Toney also has maintained some ties with his longtime ex-promoter Goossen. interestingly, HBO proposed Toney as a late sub to face Arreola earlier this year but Goossen declined explaining that such a fight would have to be a properly promoted main event as it would represent a huge draw in LA...
    * McCall - who is in shape and has been pretty active lately. A ko win over the iron chinned "Atomic bull" would be a nice add to Arreola's record
*Briggs - persuming he's indeed training and healthy, as some fellow posters indicated, Briggs would also be a possibility

Not at all, this is the heavyweight division so by stating he will fight a former world champion they're referring to the heavyweight division. Who cares if he's a former middleweight champion in a heavyweight fight?, if anything that makes the fight look bad for Arreola.

I would say brewster is out of the question, for one he is very tuff and he has a KO punch and still pretty young. maybe peter again I doubt it but a good chance because of his lazy work habits.. Evander would be at the top of this list.

It aint Brewster or Ruiz, because they would beat him.. Brewster would knock him the **** out at that.

Probably Maskaev, and it would not surprise me if Maskaev shocks the nipple.

A "Former World Champion" could be anybody. They give those titles out like dentists give out lollipops. In fact, I think some dentists are now rewarding Heavyweight world titles too!

I'm guessing it will be someone so old and shot that even Chris "Stay Puft" Arreola will be able to handle them.

Hasim Rahman, Brian Nielsen, James Toney, Franz Botha, Bruce Seldon, Chris Byrd, Evan Fields, Corrie Sanders, Riddick Bowe...
