1. Who beat a higher ranked WW in their most recent wins? Williams beating Quintana or Margarito beating Cotto.


2. Who's LOST to a lower ranked opponent in their last defeat? Margarito losing to Williams, or Williams losing to Quintana?


Who you lose and beat and THEIR ranking do effect wher eyou get ranked.

No Williams did not duck Margarito. The WBO would not allow an immediate rematch..Thats why Margarito fought Golden Johnson to become Williams Mandatory. As soon as he did he was offered the fight. You have a good point. Goosen is desperate because Margarito despite losing to his fighter (Williams) is lot hotter now.

And I see this as a cover up because the truth is . . . Margo will be goning for another belt, (yeah the one that he vacated), the IBF belt against Clottey, while Williams is rumored (no confirmation yet) to be fighting Luis Colazo.

I thought Williams is seeking the best opposition? Why didn't Goosen tried to arranged a fight with Berto? Berto is the WBC Champ Colazo is only the #1 challenger.

I've been telling people here in this forum that the Margo/PW rematch fight will surely happen . . . but it doesn't have to be now. :deal

 

Berto has a fight September 27th. Paul has an HBO date for Nov. Is he supposed to wait until Berto fights, and then hope that Berto not only wants to fight him but wants to do it 2 months later? Fat chance of that happening. Paul is willing to fight the best out there. He wants all the top guys and he wants to unify. I have no idea why his desire to prove himself is always questioned.

You clearly questioned Williams desire to prove himself. You said that if he really wanted to fight the best opposition he would fight Berto. Goosen is a promoter, his job is to hype up his fighter. Arum spews 10 times more bull**** than Goosen. Goosen is doing the same thing to Margo that Arum did to Floyd. Promoters will do these type of things in order to get their fighters the best fights available.

 

Well if you want to put it that way . . . fine with me . . . but my intention is to question why Goosen didn't make any attemp to get that fight. We don't have to argue on that.
