HBO offered $3.75 million for Pavlik/Williams. Goosen is demanding $2.5 million. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=4366393&name=rafael_dan
Yo shhhhh already.... At this point its not even about that... Its about the gate and promotional money... Arum wants 100% and goosen wants 50%
What they fail to tell you is that top rank want the bigger money the gate and the sponser money which is estimated to be a few million. What theyalso fail to tell you is that It's Paul WIlliams date. If the fight falls thru Paul will fight DZindrunk(spelling whatever) on oct. 3rd and Kelly will fight on an independent PPV. so that license fee of 3.75 is really Paul's.
The ace in Williams' corner is more or less a guaranteed date on HBO. If Pavlik-Williams crumbles, Williams is probably going to fight on October 3, on HBO, against WBO junior middleweight champion Sergei Dzinziruk [or another HBO approved opponent]. Pavlik on the other hand is backed against a wall because there is no guarantee that he gets a date on HBO, at least in 2009. That gives Williams and Goossen an advantage in the negotiations because Pavlik has not appeared on HBO since last year's decision loss to Bernard Hopkins, and he needs to get back in the spotlight with a strong win over a strong opponent to erase the stench of the Hopkins loss from the-scene
Pavlik-Williams would fall on October 3, a date previously reserved by HBO for a Williams/Arreola doubleheader. If the two sides for Pavlik-Williams are unable to reach an agreement, Williams will probably return on that date, on HBO, against WBO 154-pound champion Sergei Dzinziruk [or an alternative]. Dzinziruk is now being co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Prior to the negotiations with Williams, Pavlik was already on schedule to return on October 3 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. If the Williams fight is a no-go, and an alternative network date is not secured, Pavlik's next fight would be showcased on a Top Rank pay-per-view card. who is blowing it? If you want the bright lights of HBO bow down and play fair. You want to pull that I'm more established BULL**** then go fight on a $25 PPV with your established ass.
Yeah man they're acting like Williams has no name in the sport ... he should get something ... Arum is ruining boxing.
Pavlik needs Williams more than Williams needs Pavlik ... I can tell you this ... Pavlik isn't going to be on HBO for the rest of this year if he doesn't fight Williams ... possibly another TopRank PPV ... there's no one else to fight for him at middleweight and he missed out on the super six tournament and a possible mega middleweight fight against Abraham. Pavlik is about done ... there's nothing left for him at 160
The goose knows this isnt a good fight for PW and is afraid of his well being after he gets KTFO so the only card he has to play is to ask for entirely too much money. What other reason does he have? He has the opportunity to fight the champ and hes demanding money. Give me a break. PW and Goose dont want the fight. If they really did they would be signing the papers by now.

"My sources tell me that Top Rank offered the Williams side a package of $1.55 million but Goossen asked for $2.5 million plus 50 percent of the gate. Top Rank countered by raising the offer to $1.75 million plus a lesser piece of the gate." From the above link Close to what, one million more than Pdub's best and they aren't happy. They want none of Pavlik.
