After knocking out Greenburg to win the IBF North America Heavyweight Championship, Cedric Boswell called out Arreola. Based upon an inside source, Chris wanted to fight Boswell but Goossen nixed the fight for fears that Boswell would knock out Arreola. Just another example of a promoter protecting a fighter from real challenges.

That would have been a good fight for the fans and a good test for Arreola. Boswell is a local guy here in Atlanta that was hindered by injuries for years and now he is finally healed. Boswell has a good jab and right hand.

Makes sense, Boswell fight should happen but he wants Arreola in money fight with Sam Peters most likely.

Good question. He was stopped by McCline in the 10th round while he was ahead on the cards 8 rounds to 1.

He gassed out and was stopped.

He is an unknown commodity so to speak. Remember it was Boswell who was supposed to fight Vitali Klitschko as the Co-Main Event on HBO when Lennox was scheduled to fight Kirk Johnson. Johnson got injured Vitali stepped in to fight Lewis and the rest is History.

Boswell holds the regional belt that is tied to the IBF I believe and he is hoping for one more fight and if he wins a title shot.

As far as I'm concerned Arreola needs one more fight to prove he should be contending for a heavyweight title. Boswell is ranked 13th by the IBF and holds a regional belt. I just wish promoters wouldn't be so protective of their fighters. We might be able to see some good heavyweight fights.

Yeah it stinks for the fans. I would love for this fight to take place. But from Goosen's perspective, I get it. Nobody knows who Boswell is and Nipples wants names bigger than his, not smaller.

I saw Arreolas last fight. Any big name fighter would knock him out.

I think that Boswell could very well take this one, and by ko no less.

Promoters don't let things like that out, even if that were the case. I don't think that team Arreola is fearing Boswell. They are looking for bigger fish.

Dissapointing but fighting Peter is more interesting. Hopefully that is what they are looking at.

Really, based on what? Boswell has some pop but he is basically a boxer/mover. I think Arreola's aggressiveness would be too much for him, especially at 39 years of age.

CB's win over Greenburg was nice, but Greenburg is essentially a stationary plodder and thus very susceptible to getting caught by a higher class fighter than who he'd been in with.

I doubt Goosen is afraid Boswell will beat Arreola. He probably is looking to capitalize with a bigger money fight this summer.

Arreola is better than people think IF he's in the 230-235 range, and Boswell simply isn't on his level. Boswell/Arreola would be a good keep busy, stepping stone sort of fight for Arreola.
