I'm glad I had no take on this one and came not to decide myself at fight time... Vic would normally win it but not in the Phillipines. The result doesn't give me more information than I already had - just an interrogation, who's the mandatory challenger for Nonito's flyweight title now?
From the way you talk obviously you don't know who scored what. Yes, the fight was held in the Philippines and there was one Filipino judge in the fight. But do you know that only the Filipino judge scored the fight in favor of Darchinyan? Had the Filipino judge scored in favor of Gorres, Gorres would have won.
Do u know that the judges were: Filipino - scored for Vic Thai - scored it for Gorres Australian - a draw.
Interesting question!!! One things for sure, if the level of vic's performance is the same as what he did last night when he fights donaire it's no brainer that donaire will win again. :good
Sounds like a pretty fair decision. I was actually leaning towards Z Gorres in this fight. I wonder if Darchinyan is going to have a rematch, or he wants to try to avenge his only loss.
And did you know the third judge was actuly a New Zealander not an Australian? obviously not and i wonder what country the ref came from cause there seamed to be an awful lot of KD's that were ruled slips. But i shouldn't be surprised i mean he was fighting in the corruption capital:yep
really? is/was cec perkins really a new zealander? the referee according to boxrec was lance revill and a former pro boxer from new zealand.
just watched the fight. IMO darchinyan takes it by a slim margin. overall, it was a dirty fight, lots of pushing, bottles being thrown into the ring. the referee was inexperienced. one a scale of 1-5 (lowest-highest), i'd give him a 1. gorres lost too much blood from that cut. gorres could do better than that IMO.
