Got a sneaking suspicion Kov will get robbed in USA

It wouldn't surprise me. Let's not pretend P4P guys don't robbed in high profile fights- Whitaker, Pac, etc. HBO is also only a few years removed from robbing "outsiders" like it was a national pasttime (Sergio, Pirog, Kotelnik, Lara, to name a few). It's not quite as pervasive as it was where fighters would not only get robbed but punished for beating or making the house fighter look bad, but the phenomenon is not gone, either.

That said, let's let the fight play out first and take it from there. If it's a very close fight and Ward edges it, you won't hear "robbery!" coming from me.

its funny.....all the anti ward guys swore this doesn't even go to the cards months ago when they figured it wouldn't get made...now they worried about getting hosed on the cards...u cant make this stuff up

Yeah, someone already used that excuse! I called it excuse #1! You need to use another excuse to join! I already know what's going to happen if it's anywhere near a close fight and Ward wins! Kov got robbed and you Ward haters will forever be claiming Ward got a gift and his best wins were against nobodies and stiffs! I hope it's a clear cut victory for whoever wins. That way there is no arguing or whatever!

 

That was Wards 6-7 pro fight! Still fighting 6 rounders! That's like criticizing Hopkins for losing his first fight and saying his career was crap because of it. Plus Boone is a pretty big puncher, not like Kov of course. I know, you were responding to someone saying Ward has never been down. At any rate, Ward has done well and looks like he's learned, for the most part, to avoid the big shots. This is the fight to watch! fans of each fighter dug in, showing no respect for the other man. Throw into the mix all the racial tension and hatred and we got a Louis/Johansson fight for our time! MERICA!!!! lol

 

Nobody is criticizing Ward for that. Boone is known for dropping or even stopping top prospects on their way up. Kovalev himself got dropped by Boone... in fact the top 3 at LHW has been.
It just was a reaction to the post that Ward had never been down in his career, while obviously he was.

I really hope there isnt a robbery because although i am pulling for Ward and believe he will win this fight if he is outclassed by Kovalev but gets the win ill be the first to call a robbery. That type of nonsense is one of many things killing the sport. I hope its a great fight where both fighters have their moments and people clamor for a rematch its so good.

 

I have seen way too many bad decisions in Vegas, I do not trust the judges, referees, or boxing commission...........look at Pac Vs. Bradley for an example..........or Provodnikov...............

I hope the fight is fair, but there has always been a bias against Eastern European fighters in America...............look at how the Klitschkos were treated............
