bro your out of your mind, gilber melendez has better wrestling, and bjj in terms of hands i dont see mavisdal knocking gilbert out especially since gilbert has one of the chins in the lightweight division.
Might not get knocked out but the biggest mismatch in this fight is on the feet. Styles make fights. Melendez is real agressive and masvidal is a counterstriker. Melendez is taylor made on the feet for masvidal to beat him up bad. Ill say it again, if meledez doesnt get masvidal down and stay ontop for 3 of the 5 he is gonna get picked apart. In this fight the biggest mismatch will be standing. Masvidal is the most well rounded striker in MMA.
Masvidal is a dog on his feet.. I would have to agree with the OP, Melendez should grind him down and grapple with his opponent, it would be foolish not to.
Don't underrate Melendezs boxing. He is a really good all rounder. We don't see him aggressively looking for subs but he must be a stud there cos he is training with the best grapplers every day. I wouldn't be suprised if Melendez just bullied him everywhere, strikes, throws him, elbows on the ground, back up again, kicks him, charges in etc Melendez is technical but still seems to always approach each bout like a fight. I think the Aoki performance is where he was a little more measured.
