I think with shipping it came out to about $9 It's the Louis v Conn II issue. It's in tact but pretty fragile so I'm photographing all the pages and going to read the articles like that so I can keep the original copy sealed up in mylar. I bid for a 1925 issue that had Henry Wills on the cover along with Harry Greb and some others , but that mag ended up going for like a hundred bucks and I just couldn't swing that
I've gotten literally thousands of old boxing mags off eBay. Buying lots can save money. Gotten great deals over the years. Also, while I'm here I'm a ring mag subscriber and my last two issues haven't shown up. Frustrating to say the least. Ring says they sent them and I tend to believe them as I have never had a problem with them before. Post office denies any responsibility and doesn't want to be bothered. Anybody else have this problem?
Bunch of crooks at the post office. Anything that they think has value in it they gonna swipe,So much mail get sent everyday that I heard that at least 15 percent are stolen and go missing every year. They probably stole your magazines to check whether they were porno mags.
I blame the post office but what can I do? I call and the guy just gives me attitude. All the years I have subscribed to Ring I never had this problem before, now it's two in a row. They have been hiring anybody lately. My mags are probably on ebay already. So frustrating. Should probably make a thread on world boxing forum
El Gallo won the internet with this steal! Once you’ve absorbed the content I hope you’ll return to the thread and give us some highlights from the articles.
So far some pretty in depth perspective on the succession of HW crown from Sullivan to Corbett to Fitz to Jeffries... Apparently Sullivan was looking to come out of retirement and avenge his own conqueror's defeat to Fitz after 5 years on the couch, but his trainer Muldoon wouldn't support his effort. Apparently also Corbett did pretty well at the outset of his match against Fitz, and hounded Fitz for a rematch to no avail
