Pretty sure that neither side even reached out to make it happen.
But Mikey was awfully quiet about Loma.
He also gave this gem of an interviw:

So yea, Mikey ducked out. No idea as to why. He wasn't that big that he really struggled with making 140.

About time a prospect steps up to fight the best after winning a belt. I expect him to lose, but he did what everyone else keeps saying they will on social media. Which usually amounts to anything.

This is more so on the handlers and promoters. As I feel there are plenty of egos that think they got it takes to beat the best.

As for the Mikey ducking Loma debacle. If anyone here still thinks Mikey chose to lose to Spence over Loma. Look at the aftermath. His stock nosedive, one fist pump at a time.

Spence beat him in practically every facet, kept Mikey at bay with jabs on the outside, out boxed him, threw nasty combinations, and tee'd off on him with some nasty bombs in the last few rounds.

Mikey also said a lot of things in the lead of to the fight. Yet there wasn't a single second of any round where it looked like Mikey had even an ounce of success.

No way does Loma embarrass/beat him the way Spence did. Mikey is chasing money at WW, can't fault him for that. It's the same reason he left Toprank.

When you lose to a man 2 weight classes above you while surving 12 rounds, your rep doesn't take a a hit, when you get schooled by a smaller man, your rep takes a massive hit. Mikey isnt afraid of fighting Spence as he knew he'd lose and so did everyone else, there was no expectation for him to win, Spence beat him easily and Mikey got a big pay check

If Mikey lost to Loma, his career as an elite operator would be over.

Have you not read this thread? Mikey's rep has taken a huge hit for his performance against Spence.

Why would his career be over if he lost to Loma? That's the problem with boxing fans and probably the reason he didn't take the fight in the first place lol!

Either way, isn't Loma suppose to be an ATG according to some posters here? Why would losing to him be a terrible thing? It's not like Mikey is that much bigger if at all. He's too small for 147 and probably looks flabby at 140.
