Smudger is right, i cannot see people wanting to go Airdrie for boxing if anything they should look at clubs within Glasgow.

Got to laugh at Ricky Burns. Aims to win the full world championship by beating Anthony Crolla..

Get it at Airdrie- Burns is champ, it would sell as its 2 mins from his hometown and I could walk to the fight. That's where I'll be spending tomorrow afternoon:good

They sell 700 tickets for football (the main purpose of the stadium), what makes you think it'll 'sell out in 2 minutes'?

We are in the Scottish 2nd division ya moron and that is football not boxing!!!! Ricky is from Coatbridge which is the neigbouring town to Airdrie- they would fill it. Mike Tyson was due to fight at our stadium about ten years ago.

You pay at the gate actually. Because our team are the worst they have ever been in their history at the moment and there are 30-40 games a season played there- there aint been a boxing match at it yet. It would be a big deal and Airdrie has transport links to Glasgow and Ednburgh where most fans would come from.

Why will they fill it? The locals are not proven ticket sellers. Why would they sell 20x more tickets for boxing than football? So what if Ricky was born down the road. The sad fact is not many people know who Ricky is!

If Airdrie has good transport links to Glasgow, have the fight in an indoor stadium there, rather than a **** poor football ground with 3 sides.

The reason the chairman of Airdrie has offered the ground for free is because no prat in their right mind would pay for that shithole.
