Gotta give Pulev credit, he came to fight, albeit a losing effort..

Unlike most Wlad opponents, who talked a big game, only to show up on fight night trying to survive and giving uninspiring performances (cough)....David "toe" Haye..Kubrat came into the ring with an aggressive gameplan..I especially liked the way he roughed Wlad up during the clinches...

Having said that, Wlad is just miles ahead of the rest of the heavyweight division in terms of skill and experience...

    Hope the Stiverne fight materializes...

As said in the thread Pulev is not technically ready. He should fire his trainer Otto Ramin and try to work with someone from the USA.

Im suprised he got up what was it 5 knock downs? and he took the right hand well. but ultimately your brain can only handle enough punishment. his defence was poor in there.

Sorry guys but Pulev would never have been ready for Wald.
All of his bad habits that were his undoing we're ingrained at an early age

Yup, he didn't come to lay down or quit when it got tough. Hope he doesn't get too discouraged by this and they work on some of his flaws and come back better from this experience.

Spot on. They should give Kovalev's trainer a call, John David Jackson.

+ he was incredibly overrated due to defeating and ancient, grossly overweight Thompson and for stopping a dude with no heart in Ustinov

It's great that he came to fight, but he was a punching bag out there. Got lit up real bad. Give credit where credit is due, but ultimately it was a shitty performance by Pulev..just a KO waiting to happen with that immobile, awkward stance and the handfighting crap he was doing. Rabbit punches weren't awesome either.

    This.

Pulev looked like **** against ancient Thompson and clumsy Ustinov, yet people used that as evidence to rate Pulev on the same level as Wlad. Ridiculous.

He really displayed much better (floatier) footwork vs Ustinov though, I was quite surprised how heavy footed he seemed today.

Getting the crap beat out of you while acting the tough guy means nothing. The 2nd rate corner needs to go if he is to go anywhere.
