Even Stevie Wonder can see the one they call Triple G is by far the best MW in the world. Nobody comes close to him at 160.
It's an annoying situation where one of them is the lineal champ and the other is the best in the division.
Alvarez is the 'lineal' champ at middleweight. However this proves that the term 'lineal' is actually quite academic as he only posses this 'title' because he beat Cotto. Cotto won the 'lineal' off Martinez. Martinez hadnt fought in over a year when he fought Cotto and during roughly the same time period Golovkin had fought 5 times. Cotto then only fought twice in the 18 months he held the title and Golovkin fought 4 times. Regardless of opponents you cant just sit on a title and expect to be 'lineal' champ. As for the weight Cotto and Alvarez never fought at 160 which complete iradicates the vindication of being able to lay claim to being the middleweight champion. The whole situation is a farce and the WBC needs to step in and make this fight happen rather than letting them make voluntaries. Saul Alvarez on paper is the number 1, in reality GGG is the real middleweight champion!!!
