Depending on your point of view, common sense and perceived truth don't really factor into the decision, which is arguably more fair. Ultimately it needs to be based on evidence and, if he passes the medicals, he should be entitled to box. But using your eyes does tell you that Earl is as shot as can be... he lost three on the trot, one to fringe world level (at that time) Katsidis, then one to rising prospect Khan, and then to Henry Castle, who was a domestic level guy. All three were by emphatic stoppage, and his solo winning fight since then was to a clear domestic "opponent" at welter. He hasn't had a genuinely good win since Yuri Ramanau (who he was lucky to get the decision over, IMO). Anyone with eyes and a brain can tell you there's no advantage to him coming back.
What are the boards medicals actually based on being within a certain weight at which you are boxing at & a clear brain scan? You get journeymen that are beaten on a regular basis but have the survival instincts or nous to get through a fight without getting hurt Earl was always open even when he was winning. He was talking about having a rematch with Katsidis in Australia about a year or so ago at what price do you value your health?
He's a warrior and should be allowed to box. It's his livelihood. Just need to put in a strong ref whose ready to save him from himself. :good Will always remember that fight with Katsidis. :happy
It is a ridiculous comeback- as has been said already he can barely string a sentence together in interviews, but the precedent has been set already with worse boxers than him being given the all clear to box, so tough to deny him if he wants it Its sad that boxers dont make, or get forced to make, more effort to put money aside for when they cant box and have to retire. Before anyone says, I know the money isnt great so that might not often be practical, but in many pro sports players get a lot of help and advice in financial planning to make sure they put a lot of their pay cheques aside for when they retire. Does the BBBc have any rules for that kind of thing or is it totally unregulated?
If the board lets guys with 100 plus losses box how can we stop Earl? Really wished he didn't get 'flurried' against Khan, he could've caused problems.
I couldn't careless, if he wants to comeback, let him. It's so pathetic the way, people get all emotional about boxers making comebacks. They are grown men, and they know the risks. Note: They're........maybe.
You really are a **** PK, most British fans really like and respect Earl for some of the great nights he gave us, so of course nobody wants to see him get hurt.
I will worry about things that need to be worried about in life. I couldn't care less mate. Graham Earl is a grown man, i don't want to see him get hurt neither. But if he relentlessly pursues a comeback..? I am not going to get all emotional over his actions. He knows what he is doing, he knows the risks, he is a grown man. Why should i get all emotional..? Sort yourself out, and stop being so pathetic.
Hello mate.. So what are you going to do about it then BoxingAnalyst..? Apart from crying on this thread, what actually are you going to do to prevent Graham Earls comeback..?
**** off, you weird *****. It's "emotional" to worry about someone getting beaten to death when he's not even been competitive at domestic level? ****ing tool.
You are a shithouse. So what are you going to do about it..? What are you going to do about Graham Earls comeback..? Is he not a grown man..? He knows what he is doing, he has got control over his actions. So i am not going to feel sorry, or get emotional over Graham Earl. Nobody is forcing Graham Earl to comeback to boxing, it is solely his choice. So i am not going to worry about him. There are more important issues in life and society to worry about.
Katsidis ruined him, Khan ruined him even more, then that dirty ******* Henry Castle put the final nail in the coffin. He did come back after that and had one fight in his hometown of Luton i remember and people were saying it was wrong then. Wouldn't like to see him in the ring again tbh
I can't do anything about stopping his comeback.. But for you to say people are being pathetic for caring about a mans health just goes to show what a horrible human being you are.
