Now that's some bull****. I'm not going to get into whether the punch was legal or not, but it was a hurtful shot. I do think that Judah grabbed the first way out he could find, but what I strongly disagree with Houston's talk about how fighters go down from body blows easier nowadays. People who don't box, understand: certain body punches really ****ing hurt. When a fighter gets counted out from a bodyshot, it's generally because he's physically incapable of fighting. (A good liver shot can make you feel like your liver is your balls.) If the punch is good enough, you aren't getting up. If you do somehow get up, you won't be able to do a lot except have the **** beat out of you. I have a problem with boxing writers who have no idea what it's like to fight. (At least Doug Fischer got in the ring for some sparring a few times.) And I normally like Houston. But now I want to punch him in the liver.
Guys like graham houston believe that everything old is better I think, current fighters dont have heart, less tough etc.
Houston has covered more fights in his career than you guys will ever see in a lifetime. He has vast experience in the sweet science and is a highly respected boxing writer.Give it up boys.:deal
i dont tend to post links on this but i watched prizefighter on the night and you gota tell me if this punch wasnt hard and capable of hurting. some shots just mess you up. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiDknCHROfY[/ame] just look at him rolling around
punch was not low enough to hit the balls and it was to the side woulda hit hip he hit stomach the trunks were at the belly button he hit the belt line so he hit stomach Judah was looking for a way out and he took it claimed he thought the ref was giving him time but no ref does that by counting to ten judah shoulda got up and protested before the count reached 10
It was a legit bodyshot, and I believe one good enough to floor Judah... however when he went down he decided to mentally fold and try to claim a low blow.
