Pacquiao already announced that he will run for public office in the 2010 Philippines election. With this, I think PAC will retire next year for good since he already knew that his Filipino fans/supporters don't want him to mix boxing with politics. PAC needs to choose one or the other.

Pacquiao has been boxing for almost 14 years since he was still 16 years old. He will be 30 years old this coming December. PAC now considered as the no. 1 P4P best boxer in the world. A 4 (or 5 to others) division titliest in 4 (or 5) different weight classes. PAC gave us so many exciting and entertaining fights over the years and he have done a lot for the good of boxing.

Granting PAC retires next year, would you approve DelaHoya as his next fight this coming December?

    Vote now.

From his point of view, yes because it would be a huge challenge he would have to overcome.

No. There's other options for both fighters that make more sense... like Cotto/Margarito vs. De La Hoya and Campbell/Guzman vs. Pacquiao.

I voted YES. PAC deserves to enjoy huge paydays before he retires.

no. He has a chance to unify the titles at 135. That to me would be a bigger accomplishment than beating Oscar

Forget Oscar. Oscar is all name and no substance.

Imagine if Oscar didn't have the popular name he has now but was still just as good as he is now, what kind of joke would this fight be?

AGREED!!!! though delahoya didnt look good like we expected in the forbes fight the truth is he is physically way bigger than pac...I dont care what ******* thinks he will not carry enough power to hurt delahoya whos fought @middleweight twice! Pac aint a good boxer like floyd is neither so he aint outboxing oscar.

Yes . . . . only if Hoya is his last fight. Otherwise . . . fight the right fight first.

Then who would you like Pacquiao to fight in November or December? Taking into account other boxers' fight schedules.

December 6 is Hoya's farewell/last fight. If PAC can't get that fight, he will miss one huge payday. PAC already announced his desire to have Hoya as his next fight.

    yes and no.

on a financial and practical standpoint, fighting DLH is a guaranteed huge payday so i'd say yes.

I'd say no, career-wise, i don't think it's wise to fight DLH. By becoming undisputed at lightweight, pacman has around 3-5 very good fights ahead of him that can surely cement his legacy and attain higher ATG status.

on a personal perspective, i'd rather pick the latter. As it is now, pac already has tons of money(especially if he decides to settle in the Phils after he retires..).

PAC has one or two fights left, I don't want to waste it on unknown or unproven boxers. PAC needs to take legends or any logical bigger challenges in his last 1 or 2 fights.

I'd approve of Pacquaio fighting Oscar, but not necessarily vice-versa. It would be sort of like when a light heavyweight moves up to fight the heavyweight champion (although Oscar has no title). Although Pacquaio has plenty he could accomplish at lower weights, he'd be putting himself in a unique opportunity where, even if he lost, he gather lots of attention and respect.

good post, totally agree..pac already has tons of money plus not taking de la hoya would lengthen his career while he's still at his best. I don't know why others would scream for a hoya fight, the only reason is money. And they sure aren't getting any of that money anyway, perhaps they just want to see pac fight one more time. Not me, i still want to see more of pac

pac has still a has a few fights left, not one or two. He's still at his best imo..dlh is not a logical bigger challenge, but hatton is. He could wait for next year
