Close to 500k eh? Looks like I was right on the money there too. This article clearly demonstrates the problem with HBO at the moment. The leadership sucks. Ross Greenberg sucks. Soon enough something has to give. HBO needs people who know the sport and who know the faces most other people don't know. It isn't the job of a telecaster to sit alongside a spectator and enjoy the fight. He can do that but it isn't his job. His job is to take a stranger and make him known to that spectator. That is a job Greenberg has utterly failed to do. Whatever you want to say about Bob Arum, he understands this concept. It is about making new faces stand out and be recognized. He's been the responsible one behind the production of DLH, of Mayweather and of others including Pavlik and Cotto and Margarito and Pacquiao. That is a star studded ensemble if you ask me. The guy knows his stuff.
Great read. :good As much as we all hate Arum, we've gotta give it to the guy. He is willing to make the best damn fights. Whether he's being sincere at what he's saying or he has other motives, it doesn't matter. The guy knows what's really going on and is willing to spill it all out.
