yea it was really reavealing. You know, I was really surprised about the sparring story. WTF! I hope he gets his **** together!
I knew about that the day it happened there is footage of it aswell! (not on the internet) I have been saying this for months Gary Hyde is the right guy to guide Rigo to a world title if these clowns hadnt got in the way of things Rigo would be fighting for a title in July...
I read somewhere that Rigo was going to get a shot at an interim belt in July, supposedly on FNF. Does anyone know who he was supposed to fight?
http://www.doghouseboxing.com/DHB/Kim060810.htm things i got out of it "is that none of the cuban fighters get a following. It doesn't seem as thought their own support them. They don't draw big crowds". "the people that are controlling him in Miami aren't looking out for his best interests" "A lot of cuban fighters are held more hostage in the United States than they are in Cuba" "Those who should be protecting them oftentimes become nothing more than enablers or those who continuously exploit them" "Hyde believes that what goes on with cuban boxers is aking to human trafficking" Now that's really funny since hyde went to cuba to give rigondeaux money before he even defected that's what i got from that article.. it seems like a bunch of BS excuses because 90percent of fighters grow up poor and fight for the money.. and you telling me that they get to the states havent made any kind of money and they all of sudden become lazy.. maybe they're not as talented as people think.. also i think rigondeaux regrets leaving cuba.. he was a hero in his own country he live comfortably not a rich person but had a good life better than most of the cuban population... also the last thing this article confirmed is how you need to have luck to be on top as a trainer.. now roach is considered a top trainer and all boxers are running to him.. but there are hundreds of trainers as good as him but they havent had the luck to showcase their talents by having a world champion :hat
Have you ever been to Cuba? When you are poor in another country, you know things are there, you just need the money. In Cuba once you have the money, you have to find (and I mean FIND HARD) what you need. When I first came to Mexico, I marveled at incredibly stupid things, like helium filled balloons, refillable soda, stickers, advertisements, TV commercials, etc. Let alone malls, cars, houses, food, etc. Man, you have to live in Cuba to believe it. And BTW, I was born and raised in the middle of Havana, El Vedado, a "good" neighborhood. I already had a degree in English Literature when I left Cuba, my mom had been abroad to Europe at least 20 times since I was 1 year old because of her job, so I wasn't a complete alien. I can barely imagine what some of these boxers who grew up in the middle of nowhere feel when they go live in another country.
