fernando vargas he was rushed in to the tito fight he wasnt ready and still was one low blow away from winning the fight. i think he couldve been an atg, but he never was the same after that fight
I'm looking for better things to come for Bute. The clock's ticking and he needs to prove why he's so-called "a top SMW". I know it's hard for him to get fights because of the S6 and I heard he is interested in the winner but beating the Miranda's and Andrade's of the world shouldn't consider him the best. It wouldn't kill Calzaghe to fight longer at light heavyweight, really. He knew he could've gotten beaten so he retired. Many say, "Oh he would've killed Dawson, etc" I would like for that to have happened. That little thing would've help his legacy more especially beating an undefeated Chad when he was the man. Mayweather 140+ is a bit underrated as he does have good names(Judah, Mosley, DLH) but he could've fought Mosley much sooner and he has no prime ATG on his record. He needs the Pac fight more than Pacquiao does so he needs to quit his crap. Haye. A very good CW but he's been very lacking at HW. Audley? Give me a break he should've gotten his mando, Chaguev out of the way much sooner. Regardless who's ducking who he also should've faced the Klitschkos(or at least one) already. After he got the belt from Valuev he was already in position to fight a brother but instead faces barf-material in an Old Ruiz and.......Audley(yuck). (Well Haye and Bute may not be "great" but it's clear they should do more)
As far as Vargas being rushed into the Tito fight, Vargas already had a belt he defended a couple of times and Tito was looking to move up soon so he fought him at the right time. He was rushed into getting that belt but he got it and was a credible opponent for someone as highly regarded as Trinidad was at the time. The fight did ruin him but he had his moments and won some of the middle rounds. He held his own and didn't look like a sacrificial lamb at all.
Terry Norris. If he hadnt of picked on smaller guys and maybe moved up in weight he could've achieved more.
He may have suffered the same fate JT did when he stopped fighting 154 pounders and fought Pavlik. Still, JT beat the man @ MW so he's not a bully like Norris was. I still am a Norris fan.
Kirkland Laing,he beat Duran then went missing for ages.He could be a mile in front in a fight then blow it due to **** poor defence. If he had dedicated himself a little more he could have gone a lot further than he did.
lewis legacy could have been more, too many arguements still linger with him 1. bowe would improve his record 2. his two defeats could have been avoided if he had been more motivated in camp. 3. if he fought tyson and evander earlier in his career. I'm not going to go on about the vitalli fight, that's more about klitchko's legacy than Lewis's since lewis was bloated and post-prime. i'm of the opinion lewis would have beat tyson and bowe in their primes. I think an earlier evander fight would have been the hardest fight much like the mercer fight, but that fight was in a smaller ring, not allowing to keep mercer off of him. i
It boggles the mind what Pep could have accomplished if he spent as much time in the gym as he did in bars 'n at the track.
Humberto Soto is a great fighter that could have achieved more if there had been no conspiracies against him by boxing's corruption. Soto wanted to fight Pac, JMM, EM, MAB, and so many others since 2007, and they all ducked him, and the boxing authorites are helping the duckers avoid Soto.
he called out Tszyu but that fight was hard to make since he fought for Showitme and he fought the guy that beat him Mosley had so called dental problems, so he couldn't fight either. I won't start with Cotto or Margarito because that'll just ruin the thread
